I sort of understand the Sam/Jack affair in the beginning. Sam was young and inexperienced, Jack was unhappy in his marriage, and they were attracted to each other. They made a mistake. But if they get together again, it's not a mistake anymore. It's deliberate, and it's totally against the rules. What does it say about them as agents? It would also totally gross me out, but that's beside the point, LOL. Word. And Martin's sunglasses! They looked like, I don't know, A TOY! LOL! That was another thing that we commented on watching it. I laughed at his sunglasses. My friend was like, "Wait, wait....Did Martin steal Sam's sunglasses? They're so feminine and silly looking!" And Shi, I agree! Season 1 & 2 had great ratings NOT because of J/S but because of the quality of storytelling. I can guarantee that there were a significant number of people even back then that didn't like the affair. I just don't see how WaT would seriously consider resurrecting that rotten, dead horse. Sam would probably be the most pathetic character on TV. But then...it is WaT after all....... Ah. I just think even if they're screwing EVERYTHING else on the show up, I don't think they would stoop THAT low again. *knock on wood* Ick and double ick. Again.

I didn't notice anything with Jack and Sam at all, and as an MSer, I'm pretty sensitive to those kinds of things.
My comments about the show are much more shallow. I agree about Sam's clothes. The outfit was cute, but it looked completely unprofessional for an FBI agent. At first, I thought she just rolled out of bed on a Saturday morning and was in casual clothes. And, it was very summery, when it's supposed to be the end of October in NY--jacket weather, not short sleeves! I don't know who's in charge of continuity on that show anymore.
And Martin's sunglasses! They were awful. Can someone get him a new pair?

I finally finished watching the episode. I have to admit that it wasn't that good. Well, honestly it really sucked IMO. The entire episode, the only two things that I could think about (aside from "when will this episode finally end?" ) was the way too casual shirt Sam was wearing and her necklase (it's handcuffs, right?). I did notice the J/S looks, but I don't think that the writes will go there again. But I guess that anything is possible with WaT *sob*

i haven't seen this ep, so i really don't know why i'm commenting, but i've seen some of the pix, and because i REALLY! want smarty to get together, and from reading some of your thoughts, such as she "looks like she's trying to hide a baby bulge (i'm not sure who said it first, apologies), maybe she and marty ARE together (feel free to attack me, laugh, or bomb my house) and the writers can't be bothered telling us, or maybe i should just shutup. just a thought

I was wondering myself, If Poppy really is pregnant in real life (and apologies if she isn't and gets really offended if she reads this) how they would do it in the show, would they cover it up or would they start some ridiculous storyline just to include it.
To be fair though I don't think she is pregnant I just think the outfit was really unflattering to her shape. Generally not a good work look but to be fair maybe she was going for the 'I'm on call and I got here as soon as I could look'
What I was thinking was maybe its all part of the 'Poppy Plan.' As in her storyline for the season. Maybe she gets depressed or has a crisis that she isn't in the place where she thought she'd be at this time of her life and this causes her to evaluate her life and relationships then goes home to where it all began?? Okay just talking crap now but it could be part of the bigger picture.

I had the same guess about Sam. Maybe the new woman in the team, the way her relationship with Martin ended forced her to evaluate her life and to find out what she is looking for and who she is...like she tries to overcome "her problems" and stuff and to find her place...

Yeah, well, if that's what they're setting up for, they better pick up the pace. The ratings for last week were terrible. I posted it on the ratings thread a few minutes ago.

I saw the ratings too for last weeks episode and down they were!! They better pick up the pace for sure!! I thought the episode was so so...the sadness with the child dying because the parents don't keep guns away from their children is a lesson to be learned by all. Again I didn't get the closeness between the team working on this case. The scene with Martin and Sam interviewing the wife about the girlfriend and her child and how they relate all together was kind of amusing to watch ...how they both couldn't believe they were one big happy family!!! I think the way Poppy was dressed was very wierd...I too thought she had just arrived on the scene in a hurry...was part of the storyline...but all the way through the show she wore the same shirt...who knows....it really did make her stomach look rather poochy in some scenes...and when she covered her stomach with papers in that one scene....well??? Also about the handcuff necklace...I saw it too..strange. I don't know if this is personal jewelry that the actresses/actors are allowed to wear...naturally I know they can't wear their wedding rings if they are not married on the show....but I noticed Poppy wearing a necklace with an "A" on it in a couple of episodes not too long ago...maybe it was from her boyfriend Adam?? My thought is that maybe he gave her this handcuff necklace...like "you are mine"?? Who knows just a thought!!! Well enough of my rambling on......hopefully we will start to see some good episodes ahead...I know the 100th episode is this week and I haven't even seen it advertised this week ....like it should be a big deal...what is up with WAT?? I know they really advertised CSI Miami when it hit it's 100th episode a few weeks ago....let's get on the ball WAT!!!

My worst fear is the network doesn't pick it up for a 6th season and if M/S are meant to be then, we'll never see it. :-(

I thought it was an okay episode. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't that bad either. I thought Jack was way out of line and I think that just frustrated Sam. At the end I don't think that Sam was looking at him with any real longing in any way. Nothing made me think that the writers will get them back together. In any case, AJP never wanted them to be together in the first place and doesn't want them to get back together and I think that he has a lot of influence in the show and it goes.
For the way that Sam was dressed - it was a little bit revealling for work, but hey if she gets away with it so be it. I thought the necklace was quite cute. Sorry, but I do. I wear very contempary, quite wacky, unique jewellery and I would wear that. I am sorry to be a bit baised as Sam is my favourite character, followed by Martin and Viv.
For the ratings - I do think that Sunday doesn't work for them - They will probably change it next season. However, loads of other shows are losing a lot of viewers and are in a lot worse position than WAT including Lost, CSI, Desperate Housewifes, Bones and Law and Order. I don't think that we have to worry about it just now.

I wear very contempary, quite wacky, unique jewellery and I would wear that. Yes but you are not an FBI agent. There is a level of dress that must accompany someone in a position such as FBI agent. There is no way in hell Sam's attire was appropriate for her job unless she had just been pulled away from something quickly. It's not a regular office job. It's a job that involves being taken incredibly seriously with people's lives at stake, including her own. If Sam walked up to me dressed like that, I wouldn't believe for a second she's an FBI agent. While I still think it's a little flimsy for any office, (and the handcuff necklace is too flirty for an on-duty FBI agent too) it is most definitely a horrible wardrobe dept mistake. The thing is, if Poppy was pregnant, that's not what you wear to HIDE it. That's what you wear when you don't want to hide it (maternity clothes). I've seen plenty of these women on TV get pregnant and suit jackets become important, slimming colours and patterns, strategically placed props and --most importantly-- creative camera angles work... A frumpy, fluffy, sheer top that makes her look like she was interrupted from a garden party does not work. And plus... It's October. It's too chilly in reality for something like that... What worries me is that Sam looked more professional in Shadows on her day off than she did on-duty in this episode. To me, it's just yet another thing that has slipped in terms of quality......

okay, a lot of people on here have announced that this ep was crap. I totally disagree. A while back i read an interview with Jerry Bruckheimer (or maybe i watched one, i can't remember). Any way, he said in that interview that when he signed on to a show he wanted it to be one where people who never usually watch it, turn on the tv and can't look away. When i watched this, some girls who don't watch WAT came and joined me, and they enjoyed it.
I also enjoyed this ep because this was a half-decent plot line. WaT still manages to bring out enjoyable cases and storylines and most of us here seem to only be judging these eps on how much interaction there is between MS. Personally, i'm getting to the point of hope being lost for those two (but thats by the by) but i'm going to continue watching this show because i'm still enjoying it; in the end, that's all that matters.

Saw this one on friday finally and I have to say I was semi bored. I don't like the sad endings. I'm surprised I didn't get it was coming with the other scene of the kid playing with the gun. I was also amused that I didn't get the connection to the past storyline at first but my dad remembered it.
I'm starting to notice the other things mentioned on here - not showing the whiteboard much, most of the interviews being done at the FBI headquarters, lack of team scenes. This series has a different feel to it. I even enjoyed season 4 last year.

I've just seen the episode and not much left to say. The plot was interesting, although I felt sorry for the boy. He was just one of his father's victims. I didn't like the last scene with Sam and Jack in the bureau. It was too personal for my own like. And I agree regarded to Sam's clothes: they were too casual. Solide episode, but I missed the "spirit"
