Anyone else afraid that now Danny/Lindsay is canon the writers are either going to make their relationship take a backseat on the show or they're eventually going to ruin their relationship with 'jealousy' issues or something equally cliche?
Personally, I prefer seeing the UST between the characters before they actually get together (e.g. Booth/Brennan) as I always feel that after it all becomes canon things tend to go downhill pretty quickly (e.g. Martin/Samantha). Hopefully because we had Lindsay standing Danny up and her whole Angst plotline it's going to be a little while before we start getting Angst again but I have a feeling Season 4 is going to be hard pushed to match up to the amazingness of Season 2 and 3 - even if Danny and Lindsay are still together!
I have a sneaky feeling that a possible storyline that the writers might right to push them apart is Danny's background - something comes up and he ends up pushing Lindsay away?
God I don't know where all these depressing thoughts are coming from!!!!! Sorry, let's get back to being fangirly. *flail*
Incidentally, does anyone think Mac/Stella is ever going to be canon or is their relationship only ever going to be deep, platonic friendship. I ship them together but I have no clue as to where the writers are going to go with them regarding the show. I can't decide. They both have so much baggage and Angst that I think they really understand each other but it could be a hindrance as well. Plus the writers, having given us Danny/Lindsay might decide not to do what Without A Trace has done and make everyone in the team get together at some point or another ....... Anyway, nothing will happen any time soon, it's just something I spend many hours of my life pondering about so I thought I'd put it out there.

Don't worry, it's because we've been burned before. I have been many times, but Martin and Sam kinda made me a little cautious. Most tv people think that you can't have a couple get together or it will ruin things, so they add more angst and more drama, perhaps a third wheel. They want ratings and we want our ship together.

Oh you NEED to watch CSI:NY for real! It's like YAAAAAAAY!
*cough* Just had to get that out.
If you really want to be spoiled then ............
Lindsay stands Danny up because she's 'dealing with some stuff' which is her past - she was a survivor of a shooting in a cafe in which 3 of her friends were killed. In 'Silent Night' episode She runs away from a crime scene and then in the morgue when she sees the bodies of two young girls it causes her to remember being surrounded by the bodies of her dead friends and she breaks down. She confides in Stella. Then on the day she leaves to Montana we see her in Mac's office and Stella tells Mac that Lindsay's going back to Montana. Lindsay explains that her friends' murderer has been caught and she needs to testify as the only eye-witness in his trial. Stella and Mac hug Lindsay and Danny's watching all of this from the outside, feeling left out. Lindsay tells Danny that she's leaving for Montana by leaving him a card just saying that she has to go back to Montana (not explaining why).
Then in the latest episode, we basically have an incredibly tired Danny at work who's missing Lindsay so much he has a vision of her walking down the corridor smiling at him. After he's finished his work on the case, he goes home and we see him walk into his apartment, check his post and then say 'go with your instincts'. Then we see Lindsay continuing her testimony in court and then all of a sudden Danny walks in and they look at each other across the room ....... cut to when the verdict is announced. Lindsay and Danny hold hands. The jury find the man guilty. Lindsay rests her head on Danny's shoulder in relief. Then they stand up and hug. And then as Danny's about to lead her out, Lindsay pulls him back and they go to kiss but are interupted by a bunch of damn reporters.
That was a very rough description of what happens between the time she stands him up to the present.
Oh and then there's the small thing of Mac meeting his dead wife's son and the Stella-might-be-HIV-Positive storyline.
God I love this show .......................................
Haha. Erm, keep watching! My ramblings don't do it justice.

Oh you NEED to watch CSI:NY for real! It's like YAAAAAAAY! LOL! Your posts are practically bipolar. One is angsty that Danny and Lindsay are getting together and how you will miss UST but the next is all gushy about how they wonderful they are togther - its too funny. I like seeing my couples get together. I like canon. I do think it is possible to make it work if the writers are creative enough to it compelling to watch. I really hope they make it that way between Danny and Lindsay. WAAA!! I want one couple I ship to actually have a good relationship!!! So far the only ship I've ever had that was a success was Monica and Chandler from "Friends." Mulder and Scully don't count cuz well....you know, we never actually got to *see* anything.

Mulder and Scully don't count cuz well....you know, we never actually got to *see* anything. And yet, we did get some good moments along the way. Mulder and Scully are the picture in the dictionary under the definition of UST, and it works for them I did get to see Ed/Carol (Ed) and Paul/Jamie (Mad About You) in canon, but those cases were both kind of a given. Especially Paul/Jamie. All of my other couples were kind of broken and smashed into a thousand tiny pieces. Even Doug and Carol. So yeah, I'm going to enjoy my newfound love, especially now that they're canon ;D

I'm not sure aboutthe whole Stella and Mac thing.. I mean I like their characters together and I like them apart.. Same with Danny and Lindsay... hmmmm

*looks for medication* Darn, I've run out! I think I'm going to reread posts from now on and edit out the extreme hyperness to try and convince you guys that I actually do have a morsel of sanity left. Ah yes, Monica/Chandler. Now there was a happy canon couple to contrast with the on-off-on-off Ross/Rachel. I shall try to have more faith in the wonderful CSI:NY writers that they are going to make Danny/Lindsay work. Even if we go several episodes without any interaction but now and again just have a couple lines indicating that they're still together and happy that will be enough. I've actually just rewatched a lot of Danny/Lindsay moments so you have no idea how hard it is for me to refrain from having another 'episode' right now.

I've had two maybe three ships that sailed off to happily ever after. Two of which weren't done well. (Lois and Clark were a given, but I didn't like the way they ended so abruptly and Paris/Torres were done well, but sigh why could they ever have Tom say I love you onscreen? Why couldn't he be there when his baby was born? These are my issues I'm still working through, lol) I've had ships that had UST and never ever got together because the writers kept waiting and the shows got cancelled or went off the air so they never put them together (Miss Parker/Jared, Picard/Crusher, Trip/T'Pol). And then there's the whole Martin/Samantha issue. lol So I'm happy with NY that Danny and Lindsey are at least canon and fanfic isn't the only place I'll be able to see a relationship between the two. Happiness abounds. And yes Watch CSI NY. I just started this past episode and I really liked it. I watch the other two as well, but I like the characters on this one. All of them, really. There isn't one that I just hate to see come onscreen. lol (Unlike Miami- Horatio, coughcough)

I thought we were on hiatus?
Just checked the website and tomorrow's is a repeat.
It's not fair. I think nearly all of my shows are on hiatus. *sigh*
</cut> For lots of grumbling.

yes all mine are on hiatus now too. Except maybe Heroes. I missed last night's episode of that though, so I don't know if it's on hiatus now or not. But back on topic: Yes, berta, Youtube is so great. It's how I got to see all the Danny/Lindsey moments and get caught up on what I'd missed with them. lol
