The average viewer is apparently women over 50, who don't use the internet much. (LOL) I am one of those average women viewers over 50 and I use the Internet all day! It's generally true that older people do not utilise the internet as such. As the ypunger generation ages that will change. It's really only in the past five years it has taken off and it's harder for older people to get the hang of it - well it is for me anyway. I can get in to sites and post and do e-mails but that's about it. But it is interesting to hear a lot of WaT's viewer's being over 50. (I hardly think most would be interested in the action side of it so it must be to ogle ALP or EC! lol) Might this not be to its advantage? Perhaps I am wrong but I assumed that the position in the US would be similar to that in the UK in that the population is ageing. These "wrinklies" as they are called (we exclude Sharon from that!!) are now the biggest generic and influential group and are considered on the whole to be the most affluent. So mightn't this be good for attracting advertisers? Certainly you would expect lots of offers of life insurance and the banks could even advertise savings acounts to boost all those reserves they have lost!!

The key demographic caps off at 49. They do value older viewers, but they prefer the younger viewers because it's the younger viewers who determine the rates they get for the commercials. In a sense, the networks put on the show to get money from the advertisers so they cater to those viewers most likely to get them the rates they want. The average WaT viewer is indeed over 50. I believe I read it was 51 for WaT, which puts them out of the prime range for commercial rates.

Watched this very late last night... not much to add to what's already been said. I am confused about the timeline.. it makes no sense. Unless Sam had the baby on Friday, the same day Jack was demoted..and she returned on Monday.. otherwise I find it had to believe that they allowed Jack to be in charge for 6 weeks or more (basing this on a normal maternity leave) and then finally move him out to move Medina in. And .. while we're nitpicking... if in fact weeks did pass... why do Martin and Jack still have those AWFUL haircuts? It looks like they just had them redone. I thought Martin bringing the stain to everyone's attention was really not necessary. I would hope a grown man has a enough sense not to do something like that in front of everyone... especially co-workers. Yes, we all remember she had a baby last season... you don't need to keep reminding us. I did chuckle when Martin asked why they were getting the case so soon.... HEL--LO! People go missing all the time on your show and 6 minutes later they're dialing up the "FBI" to have you come find them... go back and watch your earlier episodes! ;D Another nitpick moment: Why didn't Martin and Elena recognize anyone from that missing child support group? So, I think it's safe to say that this episode was all about the hair. Jack and Martin don't have enough of it... and Sam has waaaaayyyy too much of it.

I don't know if it can be helpful, but last year there was that scene in which Sam brought to Jack her maternity leave request to sign. If I recall right, she asked for two weeks, and then days when she would need them up to the six weeks. I know that in real life it would be impossible (only two weeks and being a single parent... ), but this is fiction! I hope you can understand, I am in hurry ;D

Particularly if Jack was going to be a new supportive friend and help with the baby. I would think that he, as a parent himself (and Elena and Viv), would tell her to take more time. As for Jack, I think that he must have been acting SAC. I mean, why would he only today be moving into his desk? As I have told you, SeptemberBaby, toss your logic aside, this is WOAT!

I had forgotten that scene, Winter... thanks for reminding me. This is why one joins a discussion group! Yeah, a two week leave is unreal. Single mother or not. We can go into the safety and health issues about a FBI agent coming back to full duty 2 weeks after giving birth. Not sure any doctor would have allowed her to run down the street like she did. If it were me, I would have (and have done so!) taken the full 6 weeks and taken advantage of the Family Leave Act (which was not available during my baby making years) ... then I would have taken all my vacation for the next 5 yrs. Kidding!! I hope we see her inner struggle when the timeline takes them well into the night. She doesn't have a 9-5 job. And I don't care how great a daycare/babysitter/nanny you have... it's rough.

I think several weeks have passed, but Jack still occupied his office until they found the right person to replace him. Maybe Viv was in charge, but just worked from her desk. Why move into the office when it would just be temporary?

Why move into the office when it would just be temporary? Ah yes.. the scenes that we don't get to see.. I hate when shows do this... writers/producers/tptb are too lazy to do it right so they assume no one is paying attention and no one will call them on it.

Why move into the office when it would just be temporary? I think Sam asked for 6 week which is standard maternity leave. Jack was told by Olcyk that he had "one week to vacate his office", so the timeline does not make sense, but this is TV!

I think the best part of this episode was the team interaction and a return to some humor and friendship between them.
My second favorite line: Jack: I'm not allowed out of the yard.
My favorite line: Martin: Shouldn't a psycic known we were coming?

My favorite line: Martin: Shouldn't a psycic known we were coming? I actually enjoyed what I've seen. I still haven't watched it all, I fell asleep... Eek. No judgment on the show but I got busy and didn't start watching my shows until almost eight. I'll finish it tonight but I really liked the opening. Fave Danny line: So Martin, are you and Medina best friends yet?
