Just to let you know, Lifetime site changed their preview. I like it alot better , tho it is shorter than the previous one. Oh! I just saw it... and I have to agree with you... This one is a LOT better. And to be honest... when I first saw the other promo, I was kinda put off... since you pretty much 'I'm going to cheat on you' vibe there... LOL! At least this one it doesn't have that vibe there... PS: On another note, I did find it interesting how a lot of scenes I read from the sides (thanks to Jenn) have come to life there... Hehe! It doesn't look like they made a lot of changes there. PSS: It's going to be a nice Eric night! First all the WAT repeats on ION TV, and then this movie... I'm still debating whether to watch it or not... Hmm!

Hiya everyone! Here's the first review in. I had to giggle when the reviewer was saying how she thought Eric looked like Michael Keaton... but only more good looking! Now that I think of it... Yeah... Eric does have some resemblance to Michael... but I think Eric is cuter... especially when he eats and pokes his tongue out. Overall, the review for the movie was so-so... Not very impressed with too many lose ends. Beware of spoilers... Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled... Although I don't think it gave much away though... especially since most of the things she mentioned was already mentioned on here. **** UNANSWERED PRAYERS (Lifetime) Advance ReviewNovember 29, 2010 UNANSWERED PRAYERS is a Lifetime original movie airing this Monday, November 29, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Unanswered Prayers is a movie based on the song by Garth Brooks, also an executive producer on the movie. The movie stars mostly TV made actors with the exception of Patty Duke who, although recognizable, appeared quite a bit older than usual. The actor that played the main character of Ben Beck, Eric Close, has a long history on both TV and movies. He is probably most recognized for his part in Without a Trace during the 7 years he was on there. While watching this movie, I thought he seemed quite like Michael Keaton, but more good looking. Unanswered Prayers is about Ben Beck, the high school football player who married the high school cheerleader, although not the one he originally thought he would. Fast forward some 20 something years later and his old flame is back in town due to a death in the family. Ben is left wondering what could have been, much to the detriment of the rest of his family. The movie does not break any new ground in the terms of plot, predictability, or ultimate closure. The Beck family is endearing and I found myself cheering for them the entire way. However, I felt that the movie never really tied up its plot points. Things were brought out, but never dealt with such as issues surrounding Ben’s son and his resentment toward his father and football. Even the main focus of the film, whether Ben should be with his long lost ex, Ava, or his current wife, Lorrie, never really went anywhere. It seems that the movie worked very hard to get to the point where Ben had to make a decision, but then there was nothing. After a certain point in the film, it felt like things just happened for no apparent reason. Nothing was really discussed and no one found any greater meaning. If not for Garth Brooks’ lyrics in the beginning and end, I don’t think I would have had any idea what was really supposed to be happening. If not for the stellar acting of Samantha Mathis who played Ben’s wife, I think this movie would have been a total loss. The strength she was able to give her character was terrific. As was her ability to go from emotion to emotion quickly while still being believable. She played the right amount of jealousy, concern, and unwavering love that I would expect from her character. Overall, though, I was not all that impressed with this movie. I think it could have been much better than it was if they had spent less time building up the anticipation of Ben wanting to get back with his old flame and more time dealing with the aftermath of his feelings and decisions. I know that I would yell “no!” at Ben every time he did something stupid. That was about the only time I gave him a second thought which is bad considering he is a main character. Tune in on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. to Unanswered Prayers on Lifetime and come back here and tell me what you thought. Did I miss some higher meaning in the movie? Did I just expect it to be more complicated than it was? Let me know in the comments below. Here's another interview with Garth and Eric... both praising each other. I love how Garth mentioned that Eric blew him away in the auditions. Hehe! No spoilers. Most talk is about how the movie came about. **** Country crooner Garth Brooks proud of 'Unanswered Prayers' Lifetime movie, first based on his musicBY Richard Huff DAILY NEWS TV EDITOR Monday, November 29th 2010, 4:00 AM Over the years, TV producers have asked country superstar Garth Brooks for the rights to turn one of his hits into a movie. He always said no, because as he saw it, "everyone wants to kind of fix it" and change the song's meaning into something else. That changed, however, when Tanya Lopez, senior vice president of movies at Lifetime, reached out with an offer to make his hit "Unanswered Prayers" into a movie. "She's a doll, she came in and said, 'We don't want to change anything. We just want to make your song into a movie,'" Brooks told the Daily News. The movie, airing Monday at 9, is based on the song's idea about a married guy wondering how it might have worked out with another girl from high school. "Unanswered Prayers" stars Eric Close and Samantha Mathis as a happily married couple with a son. They seem to be living the American Dream, but when his high school crush (Madchen Amick) returns home, he starts wondering about what might have been. "It is the song," Brooks says. "There's not anything in there that takes away from the song." Close adds, "They did a really nice job of protecting the integrity of his song, but they took enough creative license. It had a great meaning to it and a great message." Close, who was raised in Staten Island, has been a Brooks fan for years. Back in 1992, when Close was a young actor, he even met the country star. Despite his confidence in Lopez and her team, Brooks says putting his work in the hands of others is always a challenge. "The lack of control that you have, you're so susceptible. It takes 8 billion people to make a movie. It takes one, or two, to write a song." The casting, he says, was dead-on and helped bring the song to life. "Eric Close, this guy's the real deal," he says. "The casting killed me. I was really fired up." Close, 43, says his biggest concern was pulling off playing a father of a 17-year-old son. "Once I got into the role, it was very rewarding," says Close, who next moves on to the CBS midseason show "Chaos." "I really felt like I got to play a man, if you will, a guy like myself. I'm a father. I'm married. I have responsibilities." Brooks is reluctant to say producing movies will be the next phase of his career, because he doesn't have the time to commit to it yet. Still, he's thinking about songs that might make good movies. "'That Summer' would be a very evocative piece that could grow," he says of his song about a man who takes a summer job working for a widow. For now, though, the focus is on "Unanswered Prayers." "For someone who hasn't heard the song, or doesn't listen to Garth's music, the story itself holds up," Close says. "It's a universal theme. It's a story a lot of people can relate to: the choices people make in life and the consequences." Source: New York Daily News

Hiya everyone! Finally! Eric is doing on a talk show. Apparently he was on Good Day LA this morning to promote the movie. The part I had to laugh was when one of the interviewer took a picture of him as he was coming in and he was like... "Are you tweeting?" Hehe! Eric, by the way, tells them he doesn't tweet... And the other part I love was how they comment how 'young' he still looked and that he still could play the 'young' guy... Eric was laughing and commenting if it possible for his character to have a 17 year old with the way he looked... I had to laugh at that. It did kinda remind me of how 'young' he looked when he first started doing 'Without a Trace'... Oh man... Young Marty Bear... It was great interview... and Eric looked great. Go to the link below to watch it. **** Eric Close on GDLAUpdated: Monday, 29 Nov 2010, 10:27 AM PST Published : Monday, 29 Nov 2010, 10:27 AM PST Video from: Good Day LA Posted by: Tony Spearman / myFOXla.com Los Angeles - Film and TV actor Eric Close joined us live on GDLA on Monday. Hiya everyone! Here's another nice interview with Eric and Garth. I have to say... I do love all the press coverage here! Hehe! Slightly spoilierish, but not much in details... Just the general themes... although they do give a hanky alert... Now that's a first. Hmm! **** Garth Brooks' 'Unanswered Prayers': How the Song Became a Movieby Pat Gallagher, posted Nov 29th 2010 1:05PM When Garth Brooks co-wrote the song 'Unanswered Prayers' 20 years ago, little did he know the song would make its way to the small screen. The ballad about infidelity has been adapted by Lifetime in a new made-for-TV-movie 'Unanswered Prayers' (airing tonight at 9PM ET). Ben Beck (Eric Close) and wife Lorrie (Samantha Mathis) find their marriage test when he runs into his old high school flame Ava Andersson (Madchen Amick). TV Squad spoke to Brooks and Close about turning a song into a movie and how infidelity is a bitch. Brooks' 'Unanswered Prayers' lyrics point out that after he runs into his old high school flame at a hometown football game, "She was the one that I'd wanted for all times/And each night I'd spend prayin' that God would make her mine/And if he'd only grant me this wish I wished back then/I'd never ask for anything again." Before the song ends, he recognizes that "She wasn't quite the angel that I remembered in my dreams ... I guess the Lord knows what he's doin' after all." The movie stays true to the theme of the song, but carries it one step further. We'll only say it involves skinny-dipping in a water-filled quarry. Close's character, Ben, has to make a choice after his drop-dead gorgeous high school girlfriend comes back to town.. Nostalgic memories and lust make temptation that much harder to resist. "I will say temptation is always out there," Close told us, referring to his character's shortcomings. "I can't speak for individuals, but I just know that this is a common thing. People face temptations, and I think people are more vulnerable when they're struggling in their own relationships, and sometimes it's easier to just to go that route as opposed to really do the work and to communicate. "The problem is a lot of times people just don't communicate. They assume that the other person knows what they're thinking or should know what they're thinking ..." Close, who wed wife Keri 15 years ago, believes marriage takes work, the "work of continuing to keep it fresh and continuing to grow together." "It's understandable when you're in a relationship with one person for a long period of time, there's going to be times when you don't like each other or you have those thoughts like, 'Man I could just get out of here right now,'" he said. "But then, when you think about the alternative ... I know a lot of people who have been divorced, and it doesn't make their life better unless they're in a situation where they're in an abusive situation or someone has been unfaithful consistently. In those situations, I think you're warranted to move on." Brooks pointed out that that "fear" of infidelity is a two-way street. "I don't think it only holds for wives myself. I think it holds for spouses in general," he said. "I can tell you being married to an entertainer, an artist, this whole world right now is about beautiful people. If you're basing your worth on your talent, there's 8,000 people out there more talented than you are. I hear the whole thing about the fear in the heart of wives, but I just think it works both ways." The movie's secondary plot focuses on Ben's obsession that his son Jesse (Tony Oller) carry out his own dreams by earning a football scholarship. When Jesse reveals he would rather pursue his passion for writing, it creates more turmoil for the Beck family. Brooks had his own take on parents who try to interfere with their children's dreams of who they want to be. "Anybody who has children, I think this is the world's greatest advice," he told TV Squad. "Get ready for this because even when they're three or four years old, they are going to be who they are going to be. That's it. You can teach them manners, you can teach them morals and everything, but they are going to be who they are going to be. So just run alongside of them, love them, get your hands out if they fall and help them up, but they're runnin' where they're runnin.' The superstar country artist, who served as executive producer for the project, had resisted sending his original No. 1 song into the hands of film producers. "Ever since 1990 when it came out, the West Coast has approached us to making a movie of 'Unanswered Prayers,'" Brooks explained. "But every time they do, they seem to bring a treatment that seems to want to kind of fix it, if that makes any sense. They want to take it somewhere else. And it's like, 'Guys I think this song is pretty universal.' Tanya Lopez (Senior Vice President, Original Movies) at Lifetime came to me and said, 'Look, this is what we want to do. We want to make a movie of the song. We don't want to change it. We'll bring it into modern times, the song is 20 years old.' So she did that. She kept her word." Hanky Alert: Bring at least two handkerchiefs to the couch. There will be tears. Source: TV Squad

Okay, take 2... I wrote a review earlier, but it didn't get posted... So Argh! Here we go again... hopefully, I can remember what I wrote... LOL! Well, I did end up watching it... and... and... Whoa... Now I know what Eric was talking about in the Sacremento Bee interview about 'negotiating some graphic love scenes'... Whoa! That scene really took me by surprise... LOL! If that was Eric's version of negotiating it to 'tone' it down, then I don't know how it would look like if it wasn't 'toned' down! LOL! Here's to give you a little hint... If you are Smallville fan, then you will know what I'm talking about... Think of the Lois and Clark scene from last season where Lois went into the future and then came back to the present... and she keeps getting those flashback scenes of her and Clark together... That's what this love scene reminded me of tonight... only difference was it had a dark/black background and it being a fantasy scene instead of light and being real... Gesh! After collecting my mouth from the floor I was like... Damn! I wish we had gotten that scene for Martin and Sam there... make it real instead of fantasy! Would have been smoking hot!!! Oh man... Eric keeps surprising me... and that scene really, really took me by surprise... As for the other stuff... I'm happy to say that I'm glad that they kept the cupcake scene in! LOVE IT! That scene was perfect... Heck, it even reminded me of Marty Bear... looking handsone as ever... shades on and leaning against the truck... before swooping in and stealing the cupcake from his 'son'... Only difference was that 'Ben' ended up eating the whole thing rather than his son snatching it back as written in the sides... which perfectly worked fine for me! Hehe! I got to see him eat! What else to say... Oh yeah... I have to agree with Eric on his discussion about him looking 'young' there... He did look really young... not as young like in WAT Season 1... but a lot younger and handsomer than the actor they picked to play his 17 year old son. In all honesty, the son didn't do anything for me... Eric pretty much stole those scenes there.... He looked so much handsomer than the son... and I'm not saying that because I'm a fan of Eric... LOL! Hmm! What else... Oh yes... Was it just me or the pace of the movie at the beginning was really fast to me... I'm not sure if it's because I read the sides... but it was like... WHAM... WHAM... WHAM... one scene after another... especially those scenes mentioned in those sides... Although I think they finally did slow down once the Ava thing was a bust when Ben finally 'fess up to his wife... Thank god... The pace really slowed down and tried to focus it back to the family. Ava... What's to say... She's a homewrecker... She didn't get any pity from me... You know what I was thinking... If Sam was there, she probably would have blast her back all the way to Chicago 10 minutes into the show! LOL! At least the Sam in my fic would! Ava wouldn't even get the chance to come near him... much less dance with him... Speaking of dance... Another scene I love... 'Ben' dancing with his wife at the harvest charity function... So very nice to finally see Eric dance... since I can actually now imagine what Martin would like dancing seeing how we got a good number of fics him going out dancing with Sam! LOL! Overall, I have to admit... I went into watching this movie with a lot of reservations... and a small bit of dread... considering I read the sides and all... I wasn't really a big fan of the storyline of having an old flame coming back who was pretty much a homewrecker... and the guy starting to question whether he chose right or wrong... So like I said... I went into watching this with a lot of trepidation there... but overall, I have to say... I did enjoy the movie in the end... Lots of Eric screen time... and for once, his character does NOT die... or is the bad guy! LOL! No, instead... He played a guy who was just having a bad midlife crisis... who quickly comes around and realizes what he could loose in the end... Oh! And his character 'Ben' made pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving because he was feeling lonely after being kicked out from home! LOL! I had to laugh at that... a bad pumpkin pie... but still a pumpkin pie nonetheless... and he was so giddy to show it off to his wife once she came to get him... who by the way, looked very, very wary at it... LOL! I think that's it for now... I post more if I can think of something else... but do feel free ask questions if you have any.

Oh Girls ! Thanks fo all that ! I did received some google alerts but still. In the First interview with GB, Eric's sounds a lot like a kid ! ( or like Mimi when she meets Eric ! ) He seems to be a BIG fan ! In the TV LA interview, don't you think he looks a lot like Robert Redford And god, he's so charming... Thanks Bright Eyes for the you tube thing. It's weird to see Samantha Mathis so "old" because for me, she's still the young nanny from the movie "Jack and Sarah" I didn't read all your reviews girls but I'll do it before tonihgt. Thanks again.

I read on different boards that he "looks like" everybody in the Hollywood and not world. Eric looks like himself, and that's it!
