YAH! MORE fic idea's! Very very good news. As I was watching the scene with Jack and Martin, I was thinking father/son, but I didn't notice the limp.

I think that one side of my brain is all filled with fic ideas and now I just need to start writing them <g>
I am drawing a blank here but where was Viv when Martin was talking to Jack? Had she already left? And do you think that she knew that Martin would spill the beans to Jack?

Jack confronted her at the end of the episode, and we got to see a side to Vivian we didn't expect...

Ah, I totally forgot about that. I loved that scene in the filing room. Vivian showed her tough side to Jack and I love that she stood up for herself and surprised Jack at the same time.

At first it shocked me, but I was glad she did that. I respect her a lot more now.

ITA but I also think that Viv was just tired of Jack thinking of her as his second in command, and not really have her own say in her life. Up to a point, she was willing to play her 'role' within the team but she realized that she had to define herself and fight for a shred of respect and understanding from her friend and co-worker. just my opinion

I loved that Vivian was finally given something more to work with. I mean, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else with Martin during the shooting (besides Samantha, of course) because it gave her character a way to expand.

ITA with you, Dolly. I also think that it is interesting that the writers choose Vivian, who from the beginning was more sympathetic and patient with Martin. In many ways, it helped to reshape their work relationship and redefining Viv's role within the team and in Jack's mind.

Yah, I found that kinda wierd at first, to have Vivian be the one with him, then change the story to save her ass, then kinda badger Martin into not talking... but I'm glad they did it. I think Viv kinda saved Martin as well... if they would have told the truth from the beginning, they'd both be in shit.

I've been recently watching the second season. One of the episodes was cut off the last 5 min or so... and I just need to know how Martin and Viv's dealing with OPR ends. I've been wanting to ask this question for a couple of days, but the board has been down and this has been driving me nuts. The last I saw was Martin goes to Jack and tells him the truth about what really happened in that warehouse.. In the next episode, everything seems to be A-Okay ... How is this all resolved? Thanks!! Right I think you're talking about the episode Coming Home and what happens in that is... When Martin tells Jack the truth and Jack says that they can't change their stories now because they'll get fired, but that they should have told Jack when it first happened. Jack then goes to talk to Vivian later in the episode and tells her she should have told him, because she was the senior, and that she got him in a mess by covering for Martin. Jack asks her why she didn't tell him, because he was her friend and then she replies that she didn't not because hse wanted to protect Martin, but because she thought she would get fired if she told the truth, and wanted to protect herself. Jack then says that the report from OPR came in and they were cleared, and then tells her never to lie to him again. I hope thats cleared it up a bit

Now I see this whole story line very differently. Jack pays out on Martin and Viv, but, we only get to see him come to terms with their side of things with Viv. It was one of those "do as Jack says, not as jack does" moments.
I love Martin, but, what a great story has been told here, from the MP, to the main characters.
Oh! Look another wonderful story from JN. ( I'm still working on this.)
