wow very interesting episode. it was nice to see some definite screen time with just martin and sam. this episode i found pretty depressing--subject matter--though but sometimes without a trace can do that to you. i think it would have been to hard to deal with if martin and sam hadn't of had such great chemistry on screen tonight

That ep was amazing. WaT should be nominated for an Emmy for this ep alone. And for Mr. Close all I can say is wow. This was so far the most powerful ep this season. ;D

HOLY SHIT!
Right now, that's all that's going through my head! WOW. The parts with Jack and his dad were really good, very powerful. But all the Martin/Sam stuff just made it. I felt so bad for Martin throughout it, and when he broke down at the end, my sister was sitting with me on the couch crying. That was the scene I was waiting for, and it was SO worth the wait. Poor Martin! And Sam is right there to comfort him! I love how they're becoming such great friends. And she called him Marty! That was cute too. Wow. I actually taped this one so I'm gonna have to rewatch it tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day.

ah, my comments. I remember the days when you couldn't pry me off the board when any episode aired.
I thought it was one of the best of the season. I honestly will admit that I didn't really miss Viv or Danny too much.
The Jack/Dad scenes didn't really watch but Jack's anger fit in with how I accepted him to feel especially after learning about his mother's suicide.
Marty! I couldn't stop laughing at that. And loved that Sam teased him about it.
One thing that I really liked was how Sam was the one who played the friend to him, and Martin actually opened up to her. I have a feeling that this is the first time that he allowed himself to unburden his problems on her.
It says alot that he called her for help.
Sam and Ava? Aw, the plot bunnies that may come to me when I am not tired.
Martin the politican? Not too surprised. And the relationship/bond that he shares with Bonnie isn't too far off from how I envisioned their relationship.
The ending with them was nicely done. What really struck me was how Sam paused when Martin's cousins first appeared, like she didn't want to interrupt this family moment, but once they ran past him, she went over.
In many ways, I see Sam and Martin sharing one trait: be uncomfortable showing their emotions around others. Sam seemed to sense for a minute that he needed to be alone, and to try to the strong one in the family.
And I thought it was very revealing that he only broke down once she went over to him.
I did like the conflict that Martin felt: the pull of duty over family. A nice contrast between him and his father, who seems to put his job/duty above everything else.
And I am assuming that Bonnie is Victor's sister..
That was the only missing element was Victor.. Not that would have made this episode even better.
I was in tears for most of the eppy. Strange how a TV character's struggle and your own RL experiences blended into one can really hit you.
It did for me.

funny parts?
just one. when she called him Marty and teased him about it.
and there was a hug. She put her hand on his knee, and Martin burst into tears, and she seemed very comfortable in giving him a hug like a friend would

did it explain why sam and martin had the same weekend off at all?? coz others on the board were talking about it as if it was a 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' kind of thing. (get my drift?? ;D)

Oh.My.God.
For the love of God, more comments. You don't wanna see a dead board member here.
I have to wait about four weeks to see this episode and I'm already crying for it.

They held each other at the end, but it was mostly Sam holding Martin. And I also thought of something last night: The writers needed to add Jack and his father in there, or else it would be all M/S, and they didn't wanna do that because there would be to many pissed off fans and because it would gives us to many hints of what was to come.

I loved this epi so much! I mean, the Jack and his father scenes were only 3 to 5 minutes long and the comercials were to much, but besides that the whole hour was FULL of M/S. A M/S happy hour. I was happy, I was crying at the end, and when they had they're first argument. *pause* Writing that makes me cry, now I'm crying. But at the end, it was happy/sad tears. It was a domino effect, his uncle, him, Sam, me. And everybody else. And my other favorite scene is when he was out on that balcony type thing and she went out and was all bein' a good friend. I LOVE IT! And everybody for the looks and all: Dude, to MANY to count, I lost track. But I'm happy to say, I can add another thing to my list: Hugs=1 Closeness: Probably a 14 or 17
