Definitely it's a lack of communication that's seemingly ruining Martin and Samantha's relationship. But I do think it's good they're leaving scenes out. As we can see by all the discussion threads here on this board, they're leaving room for the audience to draw their own conclusions. If they just gave us all the answers, it'd be like a soap opera and there'd be no room for the procedural aspect of the show. That I think would definitely ruin it. I think Martin and Samantha too obviously have a lot more problems going on than what we know of. I think Samantha was telling the truth when she told him she's worried about Vivian and everything, because she knew and should have done something but didn't because of respect to Vivian. That definitely can make someone a little high strung and since Samantha can seem high strung normally, that little bit more can make her a little bit bitchy, as people have been saying. She definitely has no right to take it out on Martin. But we have to remember that it's not only her fault for their fighting. Martin is in their relationship too... I think Doesn't seem like it at times sure, but he is apart of it. I would like to think that if something were wrong that he would talk about it with her. Obviously he's not doing that, he's letting her push him away it seems. I think all these two need is to be locked in a room to talk for a few hours, just get everything off their chest. What they have isn't healthy and it will ruin everything they have if they don't sort it out soon. My fingers are crossed

If only Danny would lock them in the filing room - wasn't it in your fic that he did that? I've read so many I can't remember. I thought it was Squeaky Bed Frames though. It would be nice! Then they could talk, fight and have make up sex just like in the story! Not going to happen I'm sure, but it's a nice dream!

I wouldn't want them to have make up sex.. Just the make up part.. Yeah, same here or it'd seem like they're just in for sex altho we know Martin probably isn't.

Ok, I've been thinking about the whole Martin/Sam situation and I've decided that I really don't care what happens anymore. Besides some moments here and there can we really say that they're in a "relationship"? Don't get me wrong (or start throwing bottles at me ;D), I love them both but I blame the writers for our tension. I sometimes wish they never wound up in bed together, and just continued to flirt. If their relationship comes to an end I feel as though nothing will be lost because the writers didn't do a good job with the two. i'm sorry for babbling and I don't mean to piss anyone off but I just needed to get this off my chest. I will always be a M/S shipper ;D

Understandable I think, and I think you're right. And Superkelli15 and Slowpoke, I want to make sure they make up properly before the sex! Seems like they never seem to, so it's about time they started. The sex. . . well it's just like dessert then!

I just hate this limbo business - I want them to either really get in a relationship (where they are nice to one another) or break up and become friends again. It's this unknown area that's driving me crazy. I think I've also reached that "don't care" area because lately I've been wanting Martin to date someone who can really make him happy. So if (or maybe when) they break up I'd like Martin to find a nice girl to date. Of course, I'd also like for Danny to find a life as well. That said, I'd be over-the-moon happy if he and Sam could work things out. ;D

I watched Second Sight last night for the second time, and it seems to me that I noticed a lot more the second time. I really have to say I think Sam is just a class A-1 bitch. I like her even less now than I have lately, and that's not saying much. I really hope the writers re-write her character into a non-cold, selfish bitch, and into a human being. She was so cruel to Martin when she caught him using Viv's computer. How dare she say that he hasn't said 2 words about the collapse, when he's talked to his dad about surgeons (and we all know how well he loves talking to his dad) and he called Viv to see how she was doing. The fact that he doesn't talk with her about what he's doing and feeling is an obvious clue that they are far from close at this point. Another thing that flashed through my mind. During the Viv scene where she's standing behind her counter taking pills, she looks pregnant. I swear her stomach looks huge! I was wondering if that's why MJB ended up off the show for the last few episodes (except for the bed scenes). Of course later on, we see her figure sideways and she doesn't look that big. But I was really surprised. Last of all, considering The Bogie Man is either right after or two episodes after this one, it seems to me that the consultation Sam has with the psychic tells her that she should be more open with Martin and allow the relationship to grow. I remember we were all speculating as to what would happen back when it first aired. Just some thoughts. I totally agree with everything you said Sammy. I hope the writers take sometime with Sam's character and bring her back to being human. I imagine that they will have the chance if the rumors about Martin having problems this season are true. And also I would have liked to have seen something come of Sam's card reading too. I hate when a story line, even little things like that are just dropped and not spoken of again. I cant wait for season four to begin. Sammy! U are not the only one who feels that way... Even though "Boogie Man" was aired lover here last night, I can't help but cheer Martin on for finally breaking it off with her... He has taken enough crap from her and the way she's treating him... Well, even patience will go so far. Makes u wonder why he hasn't dumped her earlier there... Argh... If the writers won't change her character... then I don't know. She has no problem in opening up and sharing her feelings over cases but when it comes to Martin, the man of her life... Argh... Just makes me wanna hit her over the head there... U know... with the way we're feeling here... it will be hard to keep writing M/S here when all u want is hit Sam over the head there... I think they only wrote Samantha's character cold because a lot is going on in her life. She definitely shouldn't have been that way with Martin, you're definitely right, and it does seem now that you've mention it Sammy that they're far from close during this episode, but they're trying to show Samantha's struggle with her relationship and Vivian's condition. Obviously it's tearing her up having one of her good friends close to death in the hospital. That could change anyone's personality I think. It would be good to see Samantha a little bit warmer next season, but I can understand why they wrote her that way towards the end of season one. Let's hope she can lighten up a bit and just go with the flow, rather than wanting everything under her control.

Last night was the first time I have seen the entire episode, having only seen a few clips (like Sam being nasty to Martin). While it is great to see these clips beforehand I am constantly amazed how it is sometimes the small things that get to you the most. Did anyone notice Martin's look after he got off the phone with Viv - it was quite moving. Eric does these little things so well. Maybe it is just because I have seen the 'nasty' clip a few times and knew what was coming.

Yay it was on last night! I was absolutely stoked... though I've seen the eppy a few times already No it was a really great one. And yes Eric is the best guy to get a facial reaction from, like it was said by someone on the season 1 DVD. He just has the perfect look on his face to sum up a moment or a feeling. It was sweet how he was so worried about Vivian though, adorable Not a newbie anymore! And yes I hated that Sam/Martin fight scene too, spells the end, doesn't it? Well at least now in season 4 we know things are sure to look up... right?

I wish we could have seen something of what the tarot woman said to Sam. I think maybe she said something that made Sam think about her relationship with Marty because if you think about it, on the following epi, Sam gets him a bagle and says that she wants to go tho the wedding.... Sorry if that was already said by someone who thinks faster than me...

OMG I wish we saw what the lady said to sam! I think that sam going to see her shows that shes worried her relationship with martin is ending. Its lke she cant see why it is ending, because martin doesnt know she knew about viv's condition and is feeling guilty, maybe if danny hadnt of interupted them she would have told him. I realy hated the fight seen, the end is obviously inevitable now. I realy didnt like sam in this ep. From the previous one we know that martin went to her about viv's condition but sam didnt tell martin what she knew. This shows their lack of communication and its so sad becuase i think that they would make a great couple, if only sam could open up to martin more.hmm... anyways im done rambling now!!hehe

Considering how Bogie Man opens, I'm of the opinion that the reading was good... and she was probably told she needed to change or that he was the right guy for her or something... Because next thing you know she's taking him bagels and agreeing to meet the family... It would also explain the shock that was rather evident when he dumped her...
