The team helps Danny search for his missing brother, a recovering drug addict and ex-con who Danny grimly suspects may have lapsed into his illegal and destructive past habits
I loved this episode! Lots and lots of Danny stuff. Lots of angst about the brother. Martin backs him up in many scenes. Just one scene with Martin and Sam; he tries to be friendly, she cuts him off. Show ends with an interesting scene between Dr. Lisa Harris and Jack.
Did I predict that, or what? ;D ;D ;D

You did indeed. I was saying the same thing to Cindy earlier - you guys were definitely right about her being Jack's 'new' love interest I think.
Also agree with you - fabulous episode. I nearly cried several times, during the flashbacks of Danny's childhood - no wonder he drank! I would have needed an escape too.
Yes, lots of Martin and Danny stuff - love the friendship and how Martin's willing to help out his friend. Warm and fuzzy - not like Sam the ice princess. Still unwilling to admit her feelings. Bah!

Show ends with an interesting scene between Dr. Lisa Harris and Jack. Did I predict that, or what? ;D ;D ;D That makes me really happy. Hopefully no more Samantha/Jack then! ;D The Samantha blanking Martin thing sounds hopeful as well since that means she's obviously hurting/still into him.

This was such a great episode. It was good to knoe where Danny comes from and how it was when he was little. It only made me love him even more. He seems to have trouble in his life and it's great that he can turn to Vivian for help. Danny's such a great guy. I seriously thought there was something going on between Lisa Harris and Jack. At the end, I was like "Are they gonna hook up?". If they do, well, good for Jack cuz then 1-he's at least moving on and 2-Sam can't go back to him. ;D

I loved the fact that Jack felt that nobody told him anything, I don't dislike the man but he deserves not to be told and the fact that he realizes he is not in the loop felt good to me because he really is out of all that is going on most of the times and I think he was jealous and also refering to the fact that Samantha never came out to tell him she was going out with Martin and this was the reason he felt nobody was telling him anything.
Maybe Jack and the new interest of his will make Sam realize it is over and she will once again give Martin a true and real chance.

batigol99 and andij44, we should probably be talking about this in the Spoilers section. I know there are people who will be on this thread but who don't want to read spoilers for the next eppy. Just letting you know for the future! I think there is already a discussion about it happening there.

I LOVED this episode!!! It's crazy, but from the very beginning to the end I liked this episode so much it's now on my top-ten list. And I had decided this during the first twenty minutes! I wish more episodes offered up more personal stuff going on because heaven knows that's the real reason I watch. I wish I could nail which scene I liked the most but there were too many to name - and I think the main contenders have already been mentioned. From the exchange between Jack and Danny at the beginning to the end with Jack and Lisa, it was one great scene to the next.

I saw the episode today .... I LOVED it ! Really intense! I loved the first scene b/t Danny and Jack in the office! Loved the interaction b/t them! The conflicted emotions DAnny felt were so well showed! and it was great the way Martin and Jack offered to help him!
And when he finds Raffie, God, their talk, I almost cryed! Amazing episode!

I watched this episode last night and have to confess that a lot of the time I am so preoccupied admiring Martin that it is hard to concentrate on other characters but Enrique is doing such a good job as Danny he is making a big impression.
I have grown to love the smirk and last night enjoyed an insight into is childhood and how vulnerable he still is to going back to his drinking ways.
I also have to say that Martin and Danny are great together (in a purely platonic way, of course).

This episode is my favourite (is it even surprising ?!). I'm still amazed by EM's acting in this episode and I'm always really touched by his backstory and his complicated relationships with his brother.

I love this episode! It's one of my favorite episodes because my favorite character is Danny and we can learn more about him in "Off the track".

I've seen this episode a couple of times, but never paid as much keen attention as I did during today's viewing. It was awesome.
Loved the use of the flashbacks to Danny and Rafi's childhood. Relieved beyond belief that Rafi didn't kill himself at the end and Danny decided to come around and be there for his brother.
Vivian as Danny's confidante was an excellent touch too. It was great to have one of the main characters be able to serve that purpose for him. I know many of us are attached to the Martin/Danny partnership and the moments they had in the episode reflected greatness too, but the scene with Danny & Vivian seemed a bit more fitting to true "soul bearing" because Vivian has known Danny longer and seems sort of like the "Momma bear" for the squad even though I don't think she's that much older than the others.(I saw the episode where she collapsed at the crime scene the other day and they gave her age there as 37.)
I wasn't trying to make a slight at Marianne Jean-Baptiste's age. I mean, Vivian was almost the boss of the unit so the "momma" remark could be in that context too. I also love that she's that way with Martin as well.
Back to Danny. I know we spend a bit of time talking about personal details of the characters' lives that just get throwaway mentions. Danny's alcoholism was pretty decently portrayed. I liked the addition of the accident on the way to his bar exam and his having to admit to Vivian that he was contemplating drinking again to illustrate that. It's always wonderful to have an actual scene as an example of the issue instead of it just being said and over with in a few seconds.
Jack was great in this one too. From wanting to help Danny with his exam to letting him do what he needed to with the case, yet reminding him what might have to happen. That is how you support an employee.
Terrific acting all around. I definitely put this episode in the "can't miss" column.
