Thanks for the info Viv!
While it'll be great to see Eric on the screen again, I have to say I won't be able to see him as anyone except Martin, and this premise doesn't excite me too much. Of course, if it ever made the shores here I'd give it a try, but so far, not entirely compelling. I am glad that he's back though! And like some of the people who commented on the article, am surprised he's back with CBS after what they did to WAT. I guess he doesn't take things to heart like some expect him to.

Finally that Eric is coming back to TV and it seems that everyone is having great luck getting new roles after what had happened to WaT. Might watch this show if there are any more news after this even through I am a little pissed off at some of the comments, specially about CBS becoming the networks of crime shows along I am agreeing with Broni here said about he coming back to CBS instead of going to another network but I am still happy for Eric! Thanks for the news, vivalina!

This is great news! I'm very happy for Eric. I'm surprised that after WaT, they have got new roles so soon. It's going to be hard not identify them as their characters in WaT. To me Eric = Martin, but I'm looking forward in identifying him with his new character! I think the chances of work in a good tv-show is more important and once WaT is over, the contracts are also over, the tv-shows are different, the story can be different. Eric has a family to take care and I don't think he let a good opportunity escape so easily. Good for him!

Hey girls, Eric is an actor and as much as I liked (and like) him as Martin, he can't and must not be tied only to that role. Eric has a great brilliant side that he showed in "Now and again" and I hope that he will have the possibility to show it again. Martin was Martin and he's by far the tv character I've loved most up to now, but you can't go on forever playing with the Martin/Sam couple and make as if it exists or will exist again.

There is a much broader description of his role in the show from the Futon Critic (copied below) he's the leader of the group, nice to see him cast as a lead and a psychologist I think it sounds good. www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=8550CHAOS (CBS) - Eric Close is returning to the Eye as the "Without a Trace" alum has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about "a group of rogue CIA operatives who combat bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence and political infighting." He's believed to be playing Michael Dorset, the leader of the Office Of Disruptive Services team. He's billed as "a trained psychologist [who] has little regard for fools in a world he perceives to be chock full of fools." Freddy Rodriguez, James Murray and Tim Blake Nelson also star in the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour, which Brett Ratner is directing from a script by Tom Spezialy.

Viv, thanks for posting the news!! ;D ;D I'm so happy for Eric and thrilled at the possibility of seeing him on our TV screens again!! Ausiello didn't have too much information, so I headed on over to the Hollywood Reporter, where there's a little fleshing-out of his character: "Chaos" revolves around a group of rogue CIA operatives, led by Rick Martinez (Freddy Rodriguez), who combat bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence and political infighting.
The Gersh-repped Close will play the head of the Office of Disruptive Services team, a trained psychologist and tactical genius who can't understand why Rick was chosen for the team.Ooh! Trained psychologist! Tactical genius!! Might be a personality clash between Eric's character and Freddy Rodriguez's! Mr Rodriguez is a wonderful actor. He was terrific in 'Six Feet Under' and I saw him in a really dramatic movie called 'Harsh Times' with Christian Bale and Eva Longoria. Mr Bale had good competition from Freddy in the acting stakes. (BTW, if you ever go to watch it, beware:- the word 'f**k' is said a couple of hundred times - I'm serious. Not for the faint hearted.) I know it seems strange Eric still linked to CBS, but they were the TV Network behind 'The Magnificant Seven' and 'Now and Again'. If Eric had issues with CBS, we might never have seen him on WAT! Just after WAT was cancelled and ALP was quite rightly airing his true feelings about CBS, I think it was Jenn who said that the other actors were probably being less vocal because their future job prospects might depend on it, whereas ALP would never have to worry in that respect. I guess you go where the work is. We probably won't know for a while if the show is going to be picked up - darn, I'll be on tenderhooks!! If you're following what's happening in other TV pilots, here's the link to the latest info: www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i23d773457742077c0a515fe823a994fc?imw=Y

Bright Eyes, you have go to stop reading my mind. I agree with everything you said and I can't wait to see him back on TV.
I am seriously taking names of everyone who didn't email or PM Jenn. That is just unacceptable. Sorry Jenn, it won't happen again.
I started reading the sides and it actually looks like it might be a good show. Kind of like NCIS, serious plots with funny banter between the characters. I have to read more but so far so good.

Hm well if it's like NCIS I might have to give it more than just a little bit of a try. I do love that show ;D Thanks for posting the sides Jenn! I didn't know about it until Viv posted this thread last night, and it was very late... I won't make more excuses, it's unacceptable. I know the drill, twenty lashings!
