So in my rampaging optimism and a guarantee that this episode was JS free, I watched it and I actually really liked it.
First, let me get those complaints out of the way:
1. I was bugged that Danny was absent for most of the episode. I'm so tired of all these female agents continuing to push away such great guys. 2. I'm sorry, you guys know I love Jack, but he was... weird in this episode. Maybe I just find it hard to respect him as the hard ass team leader who makes sure his agents stay above board when he so doesn't. I guess it makes sense considering the last time Elena had a personal investment in a case she did break some rules but... even his interaction with Danny was brusque. I don't know, maybe I have to re-watch. 3. Poor Lisa Vidal's hair... 4. Okay, maybe because I've just come off a marathon viewing of The Wire but that crack mama sure was dishing out the information without too much pressing. Again, maybe it's because Bianca was there earlier but I expected her to put up more of a fuss. And she was so affectionate with her son - not to mention she was actually there for him at the shooting. Plus, there were no shouts of "5-0! 5-0!" as Martin and Viv walked down the hall... LOL.
Now for the praises!
1. Good Elena back story. I liked the bit when she told Bianca she was going to the FBI. I couldn't really buy her wearing a baseball cap but... minor detail. 2. Everyone looked gorgeous - yes it's shallow but come on, such a good looking cast! 3. I liked the little bit with Viv and Martin entering crack mama's apartment. "After you..." 4. The end scene with Danny and Elena sort of made up for his absence. How freaking adorable was he saying, "Never....never... never..."? Loved that. Now, I'm glad she acknowledged that she keeps pushing him away and she's sorry for that and to not let her get away but it's killing me that she has not said "I love you" to him. Maybe it's my PTSD from MS but I need her to say the words so I can assuage my fears that there isn't going to be relationship angst up ahead for them.
Of course, I am always up for some Danny angst because damn, he does it so well.
That's all for now.
Oh, and I voted "very good" because I liked it, Martin looked good (paunch and all - LOL) and it was 100% JS free.

I think I've watched him say that line like 100 times. He really is the sweetest boyfriend ever.
I also have an issue with her not saying "I love you, too". I mean, thank goodness, we got the end scene...otherwise I would really wonder why Danny is being so supportive of her, but geeze, she could reciprocate a little. It was literally driving me crazy when she kept talking to Jack and Sam...but never Danny.
With this additional backstory we got, I guess we're too assume that Elena has been distrustful because of what she went through with Carlos. I understand that, but I also have a problem with it, too. If Carlos hit her and she got a restraining order, then I can't imagine that Danny would write a letter of support for him.
So I wonder if she just didn't report it or if it is just another case of poor continuity. Probably the latter.
I didn't pay much attention to the case. I rarely do these days.

I got distracted by the clothes/hair tonight, almost too distracted to really get much of a much out of the missing person story. Elena in a baseball cap looked funny (it didn't seem to fit her right either)---distracted me. Samantha distracted me with her low cut blouse, but, in a positive way, with her really pretty new reddish hair. Both Danny and Martin distracted me with their God-awful suits and ties. What in heaven's name is wrong with the person who dresses those people? Vivian distracted me with her newish hair. I 'm not a big fan. Jack distracted me by being Mr. FBI on Elena, when we know he pretty much never follows the rules. So ..... what was this case about again beyond something blah, blah, Elena's former partner, blah, blah, Carlos hit me, I'm getting a restraining order, blah, blah, Elena's partner confesses to a murder she didn't commit to save her young friend, because she had something to do with the downfall of his family? But, as always, it's fun to look at pretty people.

I liked the story...not bad. But I was like too....where is Danny throughout the episode? So much more opportunity to use him in the storyline.....like why didn't he go out on the porch(where everyone goes to get air? ?).....instead there was Sam consoling her. Still I guess that was not too bad since they have become great friends. I just felt like Danny would be a better choice... I too have noticed a lot of little extras with the cast during this episode. I like Viv's new haircut...makes her a bit sassy! She looks great...looks like she has lost a great deal of weight. Poppy's new hair color is very pretty...I like it. She too has lost a great deal of weight...saw this about her on Entertainment Tonight. I liked Martin's hair last night...kind of (up do ) ?? in the front...a bit more hip I guess then the plastered down look. Not a great deal of Jack for a change!! I loved the ending with Danny and Elena. Danny was really being there for her...he told her he loved her. Awwwwwwwwww....but I really wanted her to say the same to him. I did like the fact that she told him she hasn't always been there for him and how she wants him to keep her "on track" with him. So........basically I thought the episode was very good....I voted.

I thought the episode was OK. I don't mind a little Spanish in the dialogue, but there was quite a bit yesterday and I felt I missed some of the storyline because of it.

Most of it she repeated in English immediately afterwards so you didn't really miss much other than her murmurs of reassurance. Something occurred to me and maybe it's because I watch so much CSI but can Bianca really take the rap here? Wouldn't Martin and Elena have to fudge their reports to make the timeline fit? When they arrived at the warehouse/dept. store place, Martin told her that the guard (who was noticeably absent) told him that Tom came in first and then Bianca. Like Elena said, it doesn't jive with the story Bianca fabricated. Or what about angle of trajectory.... I know it's an itty bitty detail but it made me wonder. It also made me think it would have been much better to have had Danny with her during that scene. I love Martin and all but it should have been Danny's moment.

It was the whole case. That was my major problem with the episode. The case was full of holes and the ending made no sense. Actually, IMO it was one of the weakest cases of the year. First of all, Bianca wasn't really missing, she was righting a wrong from her past. She wasn't passed out somewhere, so why did she not know that an FBI unit was looking for her? Why disappear with the money after the bust? Why not finishing her job and doing her personal business after? Why wasn't her own unit looking for her? I agree with Jenn about the ending. It should have been Danny, and we could have had an interesting scene where she wants him to cover up the truth, a little like Martin and Viv during the second season. Apparently, Martin agreed to cover for Elena, off screen. Whatever. I don't think that anything could have saved that ending. It was just... bad. Another thing, and I'll try to say it as delicately as possible, but I couldn't understand half of what Elena said. Between the Spanish, talking too fast, and the enunciation problems, I missed a lot. I don't want to be mean, and I really think that Roselyn did a good job last night during the emotional scenes, but she's got to work on her diction. It usually doesn't bother me, but she had a lot to say last night and I really wanted her to slow down. I like Viv's haircut too. And I liked the last scene with Danny.

Why not finishing her job and doing her personal business after? Why wasn't her own unit looking for her? *sound of glass shattering* Damn! You are totally right on all those points. Why did she just disappear after the bust without telling anyone and why were they looking for her so soon... I think this is where spoilers mess with my head because they take out stuff that I guess I mentally insert myself... LOL. Growl. Shame on me for such oversights... I guess I was dazzled by Martin's hairdo. LOL. As for the money, I thought the guy that Elena and Martin interviewed is the one who had the cash and was arrested trying to get on an airplane? You know what, I never have a problem understanding her or most accents. But I talk really, really fast myself so maybe that's why. LOL. Of course, I have plenty of friends who thought they needed subtitles for Godsford Park... So accents can be tough. I like Viv's haircut too. Can I ask a question that might be politically incorrect? I have a few African American friends who often use weaves or wigs because it's just easier to have a smooth look that way. Heck, we know plenty of actresses who also use extensions to make their hair look fuller than it really is - Britney Spears anyone? LOL. Do we think Viv's hair real or a wig. It's so perfect and polished I kinda wonder. I mean ZERO offense to anyone but it's just a question. Okay.. so my DVR didn't record this for some strange reason.. maybe it's trying to tell me something? I'm sure Cheryl could recommend a site where you can watch it online... LOL.

Yep.. found it on that site that Cheryl recommends! And I have to give snaps to whoever uploaded it.. they were pretty darn quick! I wish Friday Night Lights was uploaded that quick! Anyway... here's my thought on Elena's accent, Roslyn's acting and Vivian's hair. First: Elena and my inability to understand half of what she says.. I think she's trying to hard..More on that later. I also think it's not natural for a person who's first language is Spanish to speak Spanish to another Spanish speaking person and then repeat it in English. That makes absolutely no sense. They should have used sub-titles. It's like when they have two people standing there and they're 'speaking' in sign language, one is deaf the other isn't... and then the speaking person says out loud what he's signing.. as if the deaf person needs to also hear what he's signing. Yes, yes... it's Tv, I know. So, in my opinion, Elena and her friend should have either spoke in English OR Spanish.. not both. Second: The missing person wasn't really missing.. or at least not missing enough to bring in the FBI! She was unreachable for a few hours. It would have made more sense if someone in the MP's family called Elena directly and said she didn't come home last night .. the police calling in the FBI after she's been unreachable for 3 hours, didn't make sense... Third: Roslyn. She over acts. I think that's my main problem with her. I'm not going to go as far as to say she can't act.. because I think she can. I just think she over acts. And lastly: Vivian's hair. I totally agree with Jenn. I'm 99.1% sure that MJB wears wigs. I don't think we've ever seen her natural hair. She needs to buy the book "Curly Girl" and go natural! Stop using shampoo and just be! Yes, I'm a Curly Girl! I'm Caucasian.. but I have 3a/3b curly hair.. I would bet that MJB has 4/b/4c hair. Very difficult to smooth out and so it's much easier to cover it.

I still shampoo because I'm a super oily woman but that book offers great advice on cut and style. My friend swears by it and believe me, if you saw her hair you would 100% agree it's awesome. Sorry, back on topic... flawed, accent issues, acting, Danny MIA....

Some crazy curly fanatics out there! ** okay.. so it's okay to use shampoo.. but you really need to make sure there is no 'cones or sulfates in it. READ YOUR LABELS! I haven't put a drop of shampoo in my head for at least 3 yrs now! And yes.. back on topic: I need to revise something I said in my earlier post: We've never seen VIVIAN with her natural hair... but I have seen MJB with her natural hair.. one time that comes to mind is when she did the Craig Ferguson show a couple of years ago.. I can't find a clip on YouTube.

But I am careful to buy the good shampoo and generally limit myself to every other day. I'm sure we have.... Maybe it's only when it's tied back but we must've on a few occasions. Surely in season 1... As for Elena's double speak.... I wonder why WAT doesn't use subtitles for Spanish? I can't recall anytime they have... Hmm...? Maybe they're encouraging us to learn?

My favorite Episode ever or at least, my favorite Elena Centric As a huge fan of Roselyn, I really loved it...I won't pay attention to guys who says that she can't act or that she over acts, I think she is a great actress and I was almost crying at the end with Bianca or during the BEAUTIFUL D/E scene at the ending. I loved loved the case and Bianca. Lisa Visal is an amazing actress and Ros and her have a great chemistry at screen. Jack was a bit rude with Elena I found...But then after he understoodher. Sam was so cute...and Danny, a doll with her, as always. I think I can say it now : he's got her under the skin ! "never, never never never never never...." AW. Cutest D/E moment ever to my eyes. I understand when Jen and Anmodo you said that it's weird that she doesn't say "I love you" to him but I think with her past with Carlos she is very careful and maybe she is affraid to tell him for many reasons, I really don't think it really matters because she apologises for being rude with him some times before and I just love that. It's a proof that she loves him IMO. because she is cold and very distant, contained...but for Danny I think she changes, and I love that. She is such a cute character, I love Elena more and more each new day ;D The Bianca/Elena scenes in the park and in the car were very good too. I love Roselyn 's acting in the car scene. and Bianca's reaction. Carlos is a very bad guy, but I want him back because I want Danny to kill him ;D kidding...but...who knows? lol. The final D/E with " don't let me please" and "never never never never never..." was definitely the cutest D/E moment I've ever seen...because 2 years after getting together in 5.13 eating away, they are still together and deep and so close and tied and in love;..And her quotes " If I ever try to walk away, don't let me please" <--- it's equivalent to a "I love you" don't you think? It's adorable. And the way the scene is shot, with Danny and Elena's hands together and the way he tuches her cheeks and wipes her tears...that's...I don't have words. As one of the biggest D/E shipper on earth, I was almost crying lol. Love Marty 's haircut in it...Eric is so hot lol. Roselyn was beautiful, deeply beautiful. I love her accent, her spanish, her smile, her story idea, her way of acting...Everything. Ros is the best Love Enrique too. Okay, Danny wasn't very here during the case but hey, Viv and Sam weren't either. Love the Sam/Elena talk ...what a cute scene. Poppy and Ros have a great chemistry too. It was really really really Elena, Elena, Elena...and of course I adored that. The end was so sad and moving. Luckily Elena has Danny to take care of her he's the sweetest boyfriend ever lol. you know the way they were staring at each other and tuching their hands when Danny says " never never never never...." It makes me think that they could get married...no? ;D They were just so CLOSE and CUTE and...perfect. Anyway, I LOVED the episode and voted excellent. I already watched it about 4 times in one day
