Hiya everyone! Earlier preliminary ratings are in for Episode 1.01 - 'Pilot'... and it doesn't look so good. *sighs* It's sad to see the numerous negative posts on TVByTheNumbers site how they were all saying... 'Yeah... I knew it was going to bomb...' or 'Didn't I tell you it was going to bomb..." Heck, they even have a poll posted whether the show will bomb or not... Gesh! On another note, I'm going to wait and see for Hollywood Reporter and Variety and before I will make comments on the last night's ratings. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.01 - 'Pilot'
Prelim Ratings[/glow]TV Ratings Friday: 'Chaos' Bombs; 'CSI:NY,' 'Blue Bloods' Return Down; 'Shark Tank' SteadyBy Bill Gorman - April 2, 2011 CBS¡s Chaos premiere fell flat, drawing just a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating, equalling CBS's new episode low for the season's 8pm Friday time period set by a single The Defenders. Our polled readers seem to have nailed it. Returning from an NCAA Basketball layoff, CSI:NY fell to a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating, down 11% vs. its last new episode 3 weeks ago. Blue Bloods, also back after a basketball layoff, fell 6% to a 1.7 rating. CBS edged ABC in the adults 18-49 ratings on the night. The other "publicity seeking rich guys show on TV" Shark Tank isn¡'t close to beating Donald Trump, but its 1.2 adults 18-49 rating was at least even with last week. From 9-11pm, 20/20's 1.5 rating was up a tenth from last week¡'s one hour 10pm telecast. On NBC, Who Do You Think You Are? slipped a tenth of a point to a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating, and a two hour Dateline NBC drew a 1.3 rating down sharply (28%) vs. last week. NOTE: All ratings are “live plus same day” from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated. Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2011 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved. Definitions:Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent. More information on ratings is available here. Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.) Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports. Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast. For more information see Numbers 101 and Numbers 102. Source: TVByTheNumbers

Hiya everyone! All right... It looks like the other media outlets are slowly coming in with Friday night's ratings. I have to say that unlike TVByTheNumbers, Deadline and Hollywood Reporter are using 'Slow Start' and 'Soft Debut' for CHAOS. If you ask me, that's a hundreds times better than 'bomb' there... First up, Deadline... followed by Hollywood Reporter. Deadline did a nice job outlining where CHAOS stood at its 8pm timeslot with its competition. In terms of 18-49 demo range, it came in at No. 3 with 1.1, but it was No. 1 in the total number of viewers with 6.4 million. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.01 - 'Pilot'
Prelim Ratings[/glow]RATINGS RAT RACE: Slow Start For 'Chaos'By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Saturday April 2, 2011 @ 9:32am PDT It seems like the fate of new CBS series Chaos was sealed the day the network announced that the comedic CIA drama it fought so hard to pick up to series last summer was being assigned the Friday 8 PM slot. Last night, Chaos premiered with a 1.1/4 in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers. Its 18-49 rating was below the averages for Medium and The Defenders in the time period this season. It ties CBS' season low in the hour with first-run fare posted by a Defenders episode. At 8 PM, Chaos finished behind ABC's Shark Tank (1.2/5, flat with last week) and NBC's Who Do You Think You Are? (1.2/5, down a tenth) in 18-49 and tied with Fox's Kitchen Nightmares repeat. In total viewers, the CBS dramedy was No.1 in the hour. CBS' other Friday series, CSI: NY (1.7/6, 10.3 million) and Blue Bloods (1.7/5, 10.7 million) returned down after a hiatus to make room for CBS' NCAA coverage. CSI: NY was down 11% in 18-49 vs. its last original, Blue Bloods was down 6%. CBS (1.5/5, 9.1 million) still won the night in viewers and 18-49, edging ABC (1.4/5, 5.3 million) in the demo. Among the newsmagazines, a two-hour 20/20 on ABC (1.5/5) was up a tenth from last week's hourlong edition, while NBC's two-hour Dateline (1.3/4) was down 28% Source: DeadlineAnd here's the Hollywood Reporter article. **** CBS' 'Chaos' Debuts Soft in Friday RatingsApril 2 1:11 PM 4/2/2011 by Philiana Ng Courtesy of CBS "Chaos"CBS launched its new rogue spy series, Chaos, on a quiet Friday night -- and it didn't exactly pay off. The comedic drama, which stars Freddy Rodriguez and Eric Close, drew 6.4 million total viewers at 8 p.m. but a low 1.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. That number is below what The Defenders -- which has already ended its freshman season -- usually snagged.CBS aired originals of CSI: NY (10.3 million, 1.7) and Blue Bloods (10.7 million, 1.7), helping the network win the night in the demo. On ABC, Shark Tank (4.8 million, 1.2) was steady. A two-hour 20/20 (5.7 million, 1.5) was up, generating its second strongest performance since mid-February. NBC's Who Do You Think You Are? drew 6 million and a 1.2 rating. Fox and the CW aired repeats. Source: Hollywood Reporter

Hiya everyone! Here's Zap2It coverage on the ratings for last night. Personally, I really don't like their numbers since they don't give the actual numbers for the 18-49 demo range. So it's hard to tell where a show stands. But still... Just to make this complete, here it is. Do keep in mind that these numbers are still preliminary numbers. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.01 - 'Pilot'

Hiya everyone! And here's Pifeedback coverage for Friday night. This one is best in terms of breakdown and actual ranking on how the show did last night. Note that they do give CHAOS credit for earning the No. 1 spot in terms of total number of viewers. Let's just hope they can push it up in the 18-49 demo range there since that's what usually networks look for. Hopefully, final numbers will be post soon. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.01 - 'Pilot'

Hiya everyone! Okay, here we go... I posted this in the 'CHAOS On Facebook, Twitter & YouTube' thread. So I thought I post it in here as well to help out the show. For those of you who have missed the Premiere last night, you can now download it from iTunes for FREE! I'm not sure if it's available for the fans outside the US, but if you can download it. Either way, this is one way you can help the show out on keeping it on the air. Here are the tweets from both Martha and James spreading the word. I admit... I had to laugh at James tweet... 'redeem yourself by going to iTunes so you don't have to go to church tomorrow' for missing the Premiere! I love his humor! [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.01 - 'Pilot'

Redeem yourselves now on iTunes & then you won't have to go to church tmrw... about 3 hours ago via Twitter for iPad3. My RemarksNow as for the ratings for last night... Well, here's my take. Yes, I admit, the numbers aren't that spectacular, especially the numbers for the coveted 18-49 demo range. But they did balance it out with the No. 1 spot in total numbers of viewers... and a lot of positive reviews around the net from the viewers. Based on what I have seen, the network and ad buyers favor heavily the numbers in the 18-49 demo range. After all, that's where the big bucks come in. Here are few factors that didn't help the Premiere last night. 1. 2 Weeks of BasketballIt's worth noting that the shows following CHAOS were down as well... all because of 2 weeks of basketball. People like me, for example, don't watch basketball... and would probably have no idea that the show was on last night... despite the heavy promotion during that time. 2. 8pm Time SlotYes, the dreaded 8pm time slot. I noticed that a lot of comments for the ratings were directed towards that particular 'troublesome' time slot... rather than the show itself. So it's not the show, but rather than time slot that's the problem. Aside from that, a lot of people are still probably coming home on a Friday night... So that didn't help matters either. 3. Nielsen Family & BoxI thought this is worth mentioning here. In case you guys didn't know... Nielsen ratings are counted with a 'Nielsen box'... in other words, you have to be part of the Nielsen family for your viewership to count. Unfortunately, regular joe viewers like me... are not part of the Nielsen family much less have a Nielsen box to count those 'Live Viewer' numbers. So no matter how much I watch the show, my viewership won't count... Argh! However, if you DO have a DVR, Tivo or something like that, you can still get help the show out. I will mention about it more below... But let's face it... If you check out all the other shows' numbers for the 18-49 demo range, CHAOS didn't do THAT badly... highest was what? A 1.3 for the 8pm time slot? Now based on what I have read around the net when it comes down to the show, there are a lot of positive reviews. I think my biggest surprise was TWOP, and you guys know how notorious negative that board tends to go. Overall, a lot of positive reviews for the show... and a lot of people tuning in for Eric! Hehe! Now to the ratings... Here's what I did notice. It seemed like a lot of people were surprised to find out the show aired last night. They had no idea it was on and these were comments posted to the various articles about the Premiere ratings. So hopefully, now that the word is ' officially' out... Maybe this will get people to tune in. But in the meantime, here are a few ways you can help out. 1. DVR/Tivo - Watch Within 3 Days After Episode AirsI don't know if you guys know this, but if you DVR or Tivo a show... you have to watch it within 3 days after it airs. If you don't, it won't count towards the '7 Days Later DVR' numbers that are added to the 'Live Viewing' numbers. One thing you should know is that ad buyers don't really care much about those '7 Days Later DVR' numbers as colorfully pointed by the people at TVByTheNumbers not a while ago. But the network DOES care especially when it comes to making a decision on whether to renew a show or not. How else do you think 'Fringe' got renewed for another season with their numbers? Yeap... DVR numbers. 2. Watch Episodes On CBS, iTunes, etcThat counts... that really counts... So if you can and I DO strongly urge you, watch those episodes online at those official sites. All that counts and will help the show in the long run... and plus, they are FREE to watch! I think that's it for now... So I'm heading off my soap box now! Hehe! I will certainly do my part in helping promoting the show out on here, seeing how the board has been getting a lot of 'guests' stopping by lately... Did you guys notice that? 189 guests just in the past 24 hours! Whoa!

Hiya everyone! Ahh... The dreaded thread to post in. Deadline and Hollywood Reporter have the prelim ratings up for Friday night and... the news is not good. CHAOS dropped in the 18-49 demo range... from a 1.1 down to a 0.9. Ouch! I know... I know... The number of total viewers was down as well... from a 6.4 to 5.6 million total viewers. And it looks like the rest of the night for CBS was down as well... I really think CHAOS needs to be moved to a better spot that would have a strong lead in for the show. Anyhoo, here are the latest articles. I admit I don't like how Deadline is implying that it was CHAOS' fault for putting CBS at No. 2 in the 18-49 demo range for the night... especially considering they banked a lot on CSI:NY and Blue Bloods. Those two shows held their own last week without even wanting to associate themselves to CHAOS. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.02 -
'Song Of The North'
Prelim Ratings[/glow]RATINGS RAT RACE: 'Chaos' Drops In Week 2, ' Drags CBS Down To No. 2 In Adults 18-49By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Saturday April 9, 2011 @ 9:35am PDT It got ugly for CBS last night when, in its second outing, midseason dramedy Chaos (0.9/3 in 18-49, 5.6 million), fell 18% from its underwhelming premiere to finish a distant fourth at 8 PM in adults 18-49, behind a Kitchen Nightmares repeat on Fox. Chaos also pushed down CSI: NY (1.6/5, off 11%, 9.4 million) and Blue Bloods (1.5/4, down 12%, 10.3 million). As a result, despite Shark Tank (1.2/4) slipping 9% from last week, ABC's unscripted lineup (1.4/4, 4.7 million) edged CBS' scripted series (1.3/4, 8.5 million) in 18-49 for No.1. In doing so, ABC hit a 13-week high on the night in 18-49. The season finale of NBC's Who Do You Think You Are (1.3/4, 5.8 million) held steady and won the 8 PM hour in both 18-49 and total viewers. NBC (1.3/4, 5.6 million) was tied with CBS for second place in 18-49. Fox and the CW aired repeats. Source: DeadlineAnd here's the Hollywood Reporter article. ***** Friday Ratings: CBS' 'Chaos' Down, ABC's 'Shark Tank' SteadyApril 9 1:12 PM 4/9/2011 by Philiana Ng Courtesy of CBS "Chaos"CBS' rookie series Chaos may be suffering from its own chaos. The rogue spy drama, which debuted just last Friday, was down in the adults 18-49 demo, drawing a 0.9 rating. (Its premiere snagged a 1.1.) The hourlong series dipped in viewership as well, averaging 5.6 million total viewers. Chaos placed fourth in its 8 p.m. time period in the demo, opposite Shark Tank, Who Do You Think You Are? and reruns, only beating a CW repeat of Smallville.Even solid performers CSI: NY (9.4 million, 1.6) and Blue Bloods (10.3 million, 1.5) -- both down a tad -- couldn't power the network for the nightly demo win. CBS (1.3) ended up tying for second with NBC (1.3). ABC's Shark Tank (4.6 million, 1.2) remained steady, and the newsmagazines performed solidly, helping the network win the night with a 1.4 rating. NBC's Who Do You Think You Are? (5.8 million, 1.3) saw a slight uptick, while Dateline (5.6 million, 1.3) saw a downturn. Fox and the CW aired repeats. Source: Hollywood Reporter

Hiya everyone! Here's Pifeedback breakdown for the ratings last night. Interesting conversation they have going on there... Basically, what it all boils down to is that the people in the 18-49 demo range are not home watching TV, but rather the ones outside the age brackets... especially if you consider the total number of viewers there. I have to agree there... since the highest was a 1.6 in the 18-49 demo. Not that many people are watching TV on Friday nights and the ones that actually do... either are not part of the Nielsen family or are not part of the 18-49 demo range. 'Song Of The North'
Prelim Ratings[/glow]Marc Bergman writes on Saturday, April 09, 2011:Friday 4/08/11 -Total Viewers: CBS: 8.46 million, NBC: 5.63, ABC: 4.74, Fox: 2.37, CW: 1.72 -Adults 18-49: ABC: 1.4 rating/4 share, CBS and NBC: 1.3/ 4 each, Fox: 0.9/ 3, CW: 0.7/ 2 -------------------- Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 33 percent at this same point last year to approximately 38 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted. ---------- -Friday’s Winners: CSI: NY (CBS), Blue Bloods (CBS) -Friday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Shark Tank (ABC), Chaos (CBS), Primetime: What Would You Do? (ABC), 20/20 (ABC) ---------- -Ratings Breakdown: It was a Friday of mixed leadership on the HUT challenged end of the work week, with CBS the most-watched network (at just 8.46 million viewers) and ABC No. 1 among adults 18-49, with a mere 1.4 rating/4 share. In week two news, CBS drama Chaos dipped from its already lackluster start, with just 5.64 million viewers (#2) and a fourth-place 0.9 rating/3 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. One week earlier, Chaos opened with 6.52 million viewers and a 1.1/ 4 in the demo on April 1. And, comparably, this is notably weaker than former occupant The Defenders. Two episodes in its run, and “tick, tock…the cancellation clock is ticking” on Chaos. At 9 p.m. on CBS was on-the-fence veteran CSI: NY at a dominant 9.42 million viewers and a 1.6/ 5 among adults 18-49, followed by freshman crime solver Blue Bloods at 10.31 million viewers (the most-watched show of the evening) and a 1.5/ 4 in the demo at 10 p.m. (#1, tied with 20/20 on ABC). Has CSI: NY been on any other network, its future would not be a question mark. In season-finale news, Who Do You Think You Are? on NBC closed season two with a modest (but still first-place) 5.76 million viewers and a 1.3/ 4 among adults 18-49. Sad, isn’t, when a performance of this caliber still wins the time period? Next on NBC was Dateline at 5.58 million viewers and a 1.4/ 4 in the demo from 9-11 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown: Dateline (NBC) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 5.22 million (#2), A18-49: 1.2/ 4 (#3) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 5.51 million (#2), A18-49: 1.2/ 4 (#3) 10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 5.92 million (#2), A18-49: 1.5/ 4 (#1t) 10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 5.69 million (#2), A18-49: 1.4/ 4 (#2t) Over at ABC, the network is reporting a season-high performance for 8 p.m. anchor Shark Tank in women 18-49 and women 18-34. But its overall performance still lagged at just 4.63 million viewers (#3) and a 1.2/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#2t). That led into Primetime What Would You Do? (Viewers: #3, 4.49 million; QA18-49: #2, 1.4/ 4 at 9 p.m.), followed by veteran 20/20 at 5.09 million viewers (#3) and a 1.5/ 4 in the demo (#1t) at 10 p.m. Needless to say, ABC has plenty of work to do on Friday next season. Elsewhere, Fox filled this second Friday in April with repeats of Kitchen Nightmares (Viewers: #4, 2.94 million; A18-49: #2t, 1.2/ 4) and Fringe (Viewers: #4, 1.80 million; A18-49: #4t, 0.6/ 2). And The CW aired an encore telecast of the pilot episode of Smallville (Viewers: #5, 1.91 million; A18-49: #5, 0.7/ 2) and a repeat of Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 1.52 million; A18-49: #4t, 0.6/ 2). I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that the ratings are disappointing - and ratings are everything in US TV. It's annoying that they're comparing the figures with those of 'The Defenders' - that show already had a good established audience when it was shown on Wednesdays, before it moved to Fridays. So that's not a fair comparison. If they'd premiered 'Chaos' on a better night at a better timeslot, then maybe it would have better viewing figures. I don't know, it seems to me like CBS aren't really giving it a chance, like they almost want it to fail - which is stupid I know, since they fought so hard to pick it up in the first place. Now that the regular shows are coming to their season finales, I wonder if CBS would consider moving 'Chaos' to a better day/time? I hope they air all the episodes, otherwise we'll have to wait for a DVD. Well, whatever happens, I know Eric will be okay - that's just the kind of person he is so I'm okay with that.

So that's not a fair comparison. Bright Eyes! You are definitely not alone... At least the ones that do care have expressed disappointment in the ratings. You know what I do find annoying... People comparing the show to the recently canceled 'Medium'. Now that annoys me more... And you're right... CBS has fought pretty hard to get the show going, but it seems to me that when they did pick up, they really didn't have a good timeslot to put it in. I mean... Every night was pretty busy so there was no real room for CHAOS to come on board... except for the Friday night 8pm timeslot once 'The Defenders' finished its season. Like you, I really hope CBS gives the show a chance... I have been checking things all over the net... and everyone who has turned in and watched the show has nothing but positive things to say... including the TV critics. It's the damn dreaded Friday night 8pm timeslot that's not doing the show any favors. People are definitely hyped and on board, but yet most of us aren't part of the dreaded Nielsen family... As for Eric... I'm sure you're right... But I would love to see him flex his acting muscles with this role. You got the comedic aspect to it with a little mix of drama ala spy... This role really fits him to the 't' there... So it would be really a shame to see this one go... *sighs*

Hiya everyone! Final ratings are in for Episode 1.02 - 'Song Of The North'. The number for total viewers went up a bit... while the 18-49 demo range remained the same. I post the ratings for the other shows too. Hmm! I think I might have to rearrange those numbers around to see where CHAOS is with the competition. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.02 -

The first 'ranking' is based on total numbers of viewers from highest to lowest while the second 'ranking' is based on the 18-49 demo range from highest to lowest.

It´s a shame these ratings . Chaos is a good, funny and interesting show . There are a lot of chemistry among the main characters .
CBS needed this show for your program but they really hate it . In my opinion , CBS could have found a better day( Tuesday or Thursday) , a better hour... if they are interested in Chaos.

I think the trouble with CBS is that they simply don't have a timeslot to put CHAOS in... not until the all the Season Finales have aired in May. But not before... And you know the thing that gets most... People are actually giving them positive reviews... all over the net... especially after last night's episode. One of the biggest surprises I think is TWOP. I'm still reading positive stuff about the show after last night's episode has aired. People are really liking the show and the characters... despite the obvious confusion about Adele and Fay.
