Wow, I'm surprised no one has started a thread yet.
My thoughts on Lost and Found:
- Martin was adorable!!! You can tell he was very disturbed by Sam's reaction to Jack moving. First, with the crying...
The crying scene was great. I felt like Sam wanted to explain, but then they were interrupted.
Then, when Samantha was asking Jack about whether he would "miss" these moments, and Viv and Martin approach them, you can see Martin like, watching her. And then, shortly after she leaves, he follows her.
And then, BAM....you go onto possibly the most important scene of the episode. Martin had the most perfect opportunity to ask her out, and yet he didn't. BUt you knew he wanted to, because when he asked about "new feelings," he sort of looked away. And then Sam's reponse....it was just so frustrating to watch!
But I liked the last scene. It was like closure. "What we had was good.....it was good because it's what we needed at the time," Something along those lines. Doesn't that sound like closure? And then, with the "happiness with Marie in Chicago." Sam is FINALLY moving on....
Let's hope the Season Finale will be great!!!

I'm surprised too that this is the first post. I loved, loved, loved all their scenes in this episode. Poor Martin. I'm glad they didn't write it so that he came off jealous for wanting to know about J/S. Feelings fade... room for new one... **sighs** I can't wait to see what else M/S has in store for us.
** forgot to add ** If you haven't seen the scenes. I uploaded them to my site. So they're up for downloads. I just had to share the sweet, sweet moments.

And, of course, this is the episode where Martin finds out about Jack and Sam - you can see his mind ticking over as he tried to comprehend just what Sam's reaction to Jack leaving meant. My heart broke for him when he asked Sam "Am I the only one didn't know?" I just wanted to give him a big hug and comfort him.
However, it makes me wonder what the scenes in Season 1 finale were about? Martin was obviously eavesdropping on conversations about the relationship between Jack and Sam paticularly Van Doren and Jack where she wanted to pull him off the case because she thought he was too personally involved. There is no doubt that Martin did hear what was said and I don't think he could have failed to understand what the position was between J/S.
Then the next thing is he doesn't discover till the end of Season 2. Maybe things aren't so different now after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Season 1 Finale I don't think it was ever explicitly mentioned that Jack and Sam were ever together in this episode. Martin, being a fairly intelligent guy, would probably speculate at Jack's behavior - specially trading himself in for Sam - but I think that in the end, he gives Jack the benefit of the doubt and let's everything slide. As for the getting too personally involved comment from Van Doren, it's pretty logical even without JS given that Jack IS leader, he DID send Sam into that bookstore, and as such would probably feel responsible and guilty and too personally involved to make objective decisions about pulling her out no matter the cost. Just my two cents. ;D Back on topic - I loved this episode. I really, really wish they had taken things slowly from here instead of making them jump into bed in "In the Dark." *sigh*

I just finished watching this episode earlier toninght... and I have to say... Damn... This makes me love Marty 'Bear' even more! He was adorable... and the scene of him finally realizing what's going on there...
That was kinda heartbreaking...
You know... the whole Jack thing... Argh... Now I remember why I hate the guy so much and why I find every scene with him so dragging... Gesh... I was really glad that he was leaving and letting Viv finally take over...
But we know how that all turned out...
