It's been confirmed - Criminal Minds spin-off has been picked up. Chaos seems to be dead in the water. We won't be getting a weekly dose of Eric just yet.

You know what? I'm really tired of these silly, dirty games the networks are playing. What should I do now, wait until they make a decision for mid-season? And then - maybe, who knows - for next year? Having to watch, in the meantime, the horrible shows that alle the CSIs have become, just to mention some? Just money matters and I got tired of this.

I know it's frustrating for us EC fans, but I think CBS are well known for this behaviour Iretos. All the other networks basically released news about their pick-ups/cancellations well in advance of their big presentations to the Press. I'm not sure if ABC have announced all their pick-ups (No word about Poppy's pilot), but even they have given a whole lot of details already. (Their presentation is tomorrow and NBC's was yesterday) I hope you'll find something to enjoy watching in the Fall!

They can release their information sooner or later, it's not that the problem. The problem is that everything turns around money and this is a fact.
I doubt I'll find something to enjoy, I saw nothing this year and I can't see anything interesting arriving.

I'm not surprised the Criminal Minds spin-off got picked up even though the first episode wasn't too impressive. The original Criminal Minds gets lots of ratings and is still going strong so many years later, they probably assume the spin-off will do just as good so will give it a chance, like NCIS: Los Angeles, hoping the original viewiership will stay with it. Maybe it'll fail and Chaos will get picked up at the last minute?? I have no idea how it works Just guessing! Let's hope Chaos gets picked up, even if it is in the off-season (or whatever you guys call it), give little Eric a bit of air time!

I can't believe they might go ahead with the new Criminal Minds. I thought the pilot show was very unimpressive. I agree with you sharon, I didn't like the CM spinoff either. Nothing appealing. I enjoy CM but the new one- no, I'll pass. Same with NCIS , I love the orignal (Big Mark Harmon fan) and do not like in any way the LA one...awful. I read on one of the new bulletins that 'some' of CBS's pilot pickups were advanced announcements but that CBS has some cards they are holding 'close to their vest' whatever that means. Also something about how many shows they need to cancel besides Numbers and Cold Case. They did mention Medium and ghost whisperr on the potential hit list. Who knows, maybe since none of these advances were from CBS officially, they are holding back a few things. I can't see th HAwaii -5-0 remake , which someone said they heard was a combo of mcguyer and baywatch. I don't like the casting. I am fan of the orignal. The one with Tom Selleck I might watch because I like him, but I don't like Mark Walberg and who did that casting? Mark Walhberg and Tom 's son? The other CBS one, Th Defenders, I'll pass. I am not a fan of lawyer shows and not of Jim Belushi. Heres hopng something does awful in the ratings and gets cancelled by thanksgiving. But at least since EC's in the Criminal minds finale, which is a cliffhanger, he might be in the opener...

I am just crossing my fingers that they will be nice and at least put Chaos on midseason if they don't place it in the fall.

I can't believe that CBS picked up the CM's spin off over CHAOS. While spin-offs have been good for CBS, they have been off shows, that people can watch and enjoy the story and the different locations.(tho I love CSI and NCIS, I don't really care for CSI MIAMI or NCIS LA.) Crminal Minds is truely a good show and I try never to miss but it's nature is alttle more disturbing than the other procedurals and I know I could only watch that stuff once a week. CHAOS wasn't a police procedural, probably alittle A-Teamish so it would have been something alittle "new" and different.

But once CBS got Forest Whittaker, they weren't going to let him go. Word is that the Pilot (or episode of CM where his character was introduced) was terrible, so I reckon they're going to have to do a huge re-think and re-write if they want it to be successful. Another thing: I bet for what they're paying Forest Whittaker, they could probably pay the whole cast of Chaos and still have money left over! Anyway, all will be revealed tomorrow at the CBS Presentation in NY.

Obviously disappointed but not devastated like last year since the odds of Chaos being picked up weren't that good.
Last year the demos right from the start of the Season meant that WaT was under threat but about two months out when CBS fired their warning shots against it and Cold Case all those "in the know" said WaT was safe so I got optimistic and it was a real shock when it went.
Apparently they picked up a third procedural "Defenders" about a legal team.
Pilots which don't get picked up rarely get shown on TV.
