Hiya everyone! Here are the prelim ratings for Friday night. I have to say, I'm impressed that none of the shows suffered any kind of decline because the final installment of 'Harry Potter' is out. People are still tuning in for the night. I'm curious to see how the numbers will be for Saturday night. **** Marc Bergman writes on Saturday, July 16, 2011:Friday 7/15/11 -Total Viewers: CBS: 6.20 million, ABC: 4.27, NBC: 4.25, Fox: 2.75, CW: 1.16 -Adults 18-49: ABC: 1.2 rating/4 share, CBS: 1.1/ 4, NBC: 1.0/ 4, Fox: 0.8/ 3, CW: 0.4/ 2 -------------------- Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 33 percent at this same point last year to approximately 38 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted. ---------- -Friday’s Winners: Nothing -Friday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Friday Night Lights (NBC), but congratulations to NBC for finding a way to keep this quality drama on the air for five seasons. ---------- -Ratings Breakdown: CBS was the most-watched network on this third Friday in July, with ABC No. 1 among adults 18-49. But once again there was nothing worth positively noting on the evening. Canadian drama Flashpoint opened the evening for CBS, with 6.00 million viewers (#1) and a 1.2 rating/5 share among adults 18-49 (#1t) at 8 p.m. That led into repeats of CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 6.28 million; A18-49: #2, 1.1/ 4) and Blue Bloods (Viewers: #1, 6.32 million; A18-49: #3, 1.0/ 3), which remain intact in the Friday 9-11 p.m. block next season. This fall, look for new CBS drama A Gifted Man at 8 p.m. (which may not be so gifted once the ratings come in). ABC aired repeats of Shark Tank (Viewers: #2, 4.28 million; A18-49: #1t, 1.2/ 5), which returns in midseason, and Primetime: What Would You Do? (Viewers: #2, 3.97 million; A18-49: #1, 1.2/ 5) from 8-10 p.m., followed by veteran 20/20 at 4.55 million viewers (#3) and a second-place 1.2/ 4 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. At press time, ABC has not confirmed what it will air in the Friday 8 p.m. hour this fall. In series-finale news, a 90-minute edition of NBC’s Friday Night Lights went out with a whimper at 3.48 million viewers and a 0.9/ 3 among adults 18-49 from 8-9:30 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown: Friday Night Lights (NBC) 8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 3.69 million (#3), A18-49: 0.9/ 4 (#3) 8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 3.26 million (#3), A18-49: 0.8/ 3 (#3t) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 3.51 million (#3), A18-49: 0.9/ 3 (#3) Next on NBC was a 90-minute edition of Dateline at 5.02 million viewers and a 1.2/ 4 in the demo from 9:30-11 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown: Dateline (NBC) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 3.99 million (#2), A18-49: 1.0/ 3 (#3) 10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 5.29 million (#2), A18-49: 1.3/ 4 (#1) 10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 5.77 million (#2), A18-49: 1.4/ 5 (#1) As a reminder, new NBC drama Grimm steps into the Friday 9 p.m. hour this fall into a one-hour edition of Dateline. Come November, however, expect Grimm to be gone and Dateline to be back to two hours. Elsewhere, Fox filled the evening with repeats of Bones (Viewers: #4, 3.05 million; A18-49: #4, 0.8/ 30 and House (Viewers: #4, 2.46 million; A18-49: #4, 0.8/ 3). And The CW aired encore telecasts of Smallville (Viewers: #5, 1.18 million; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 2) and Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 1.14 million; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 2). Returning Kitchen Nightmares and Fringe will populate Fox this fall, while Nikita on The CW inherits the 8 p.m. time period in place of departed Smallville (and into Supernatural). Hiya everyone! Here we go... The final set of prelim ratings for 'CHAOS'. Compared to last week's episode, the numbers definitely went up even though not by much. 3.04 million total viewers tuned in with a steady 0.5 in the 18-49 demo range. That's quite impressive if you ask me considering how CBS didn't even bother posting some sort of a note/reminder on the official 'CHAOS' Facebook or Twitter page. [glow=red,2,300]Episode 1.13 -
'Proof Of Life'.
Prelim Ratings[/glow]Marc Bergman writes on Sunday, July 17, 2011:Saturday 7/16/11 -Total Viewers: CBS: 3.75 million, ABC: 3.34, Fox: 3.33, NBC: 2.87 -Adults 18-49: Fox: 1.1 rating/5 share, ABC: 0.8/ 3, CBS: 0.6/ 3, NBC: 0.6/ 2 --------------- Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 33 percent at this same point last year to approximately 38 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted. --------------- -Saturday’s Winners: Nothing, as usual. -Saturday’s Losers (excluding repeats): Chaos (CBS) and the night overall. ---------- -Ratings Breakdown: There is not much you can say, no doubt, if the No. 1 network (CBS in total viewers; Fox among adults 18-49) averages under 4-million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. CBS opened with the series-finale of Chaos (Viewers: #2, 3.04 million; A18-49: #3, 0.5 rating/2 share at 8 p.m.), followed by a repeat of The Mentalist (Viewers: #1, 3.65 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.5/ 2) and long-running 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: #1, 4.55 million; A18-49: #1t, 0.9/ 3) from 9-11 p.m. And Fox aired two repeat episodes of Cops (Viewers: #1, avg. 3.17 million; A18-49: #1, avg. 1.0/ 5 from 8-9 p.m.) and 9 p.m. animated special The Indestructibles, which averaged 3.49 million viewers (#2) and a first-place 1.2/ 5 in the demo at 9 p.m. The Indestructibles was the highest rated show of the night among adults 18-49. Elsewhere, ABC filled the evening with repeats of 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show (Viewers: #3, 2.45 million; A18-49: #2, 0.6/ 3 at 8 p.m.) and the two-hour ABC News Special – Jaycee Dugard: In Her Own Words (Viewers: #3, 3.79 million; A18-49: #2, 0.9/ 3 from 9-11 p.m.). And NBC aired encore telecasts of Minute to Win It (Viewers: #4, 2.16 million; A18-49: #4, 0.4/ 2), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #4, 2.43 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.5/ 2) and Law & Order: SVU (Viewers: #3, 4.02 million; A18-49: #1t, 0.9/ 3). 'Proof Of Life'.
Prelim Ratings[/glow]TV Ratings: CBS's CHAOS Quietly Fades Away; Fox Wins a Slow Saturday with 'Cops' and 'Indestructibles' SpecialBy Robert Seidman– July 17, 2011 Fox led the night with adults 18-49 and CBS won the night with viewers. Fox was paced by Cops repeats and an animated the National Geographic The Indestructibles special that scored a broadcast primetime best 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. The night’s only other original, the final episode of canceled CHAOS was steady versus last week with a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating. While nowhere near the levels of its first airing, the two hour repeat of Diane Sawyer’s interview with Jaycee Dugard scored a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating which is about 50% better than ABC did last week between 9-11 with repeats of Expedition Impossible and Rookie Blue. Hiya everyone! I know that 'CHAOS' is done, but I was curious to see how its replacement is doing at the Saturday night 8pm timeslot. A repeat of 'NCIS: LA' aired during that timeslot and from the looks of it, the numbers were pretty much around the same as 'CHAOS'. Keep in mind that 'NCIS: LA' was a repeat and probably got some promotion while 'CHAOS' pretty much got nothing. I post the numbers for Friday nights first followed by Saturday night. **** Marc Bergman writes on Satuday, July 23, 2011:Friday 7/22/11 -Total Viewers: CBS: 6.08 million, NBC: 4.24, ABC: 4.12, Fox: 2.26, CW: 985,000 -Adults 18-49: ABC: 1.1 rating/4 share, CBS and NBC: 1.0/ 4 each, Fox: 0.6/ 2, CW: 0.4/ 1 -------------------- Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. (Viewers: #3, 4.21 million; A18-49: #1, 1.1/ 4) and 20/20 (Viewers: #3, 4.36 million; A18-49: #2, 1.2/ 4) from 9-11 p.m. At press time, ABC has still not confirmed what it will air in the Friday 8 p.m. hour now that Shark Tank has been pushed back until midseason. In time period premiere news, an encore telecast of The CW’s Nikita finished a distant fifth in the 8 p.m. hour, with 1.00 million viewers and a 0.4/ 2 among adults 18-49. That led into a repeat of Supernatural at 970,000 viewers (#5) and a 0.4/ 1 in the demo (#5) at 9 p.m. Comparably, Nikita is similar to the recent repeats of concluded Smallville. Elsewhere, NBC populated the night with a repeat of Who Do You Think You Are? (Viewers: #3, 3.25 million; A18-49: #3, 0.7/ 3 at 8 p.m.), which returns in midseason, followed by two-hours of Dateline at 4.73 million viewers (#2) and a first-place 1.2/ 4 in the demo from 9-11 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown: Dateline (NBC) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 4.15 million (#3), A18-49: 1.0/ 4 (#2) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 4.36 million (#2), A18-49: 1.0/ 3 (#1t) 10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 4.93 million (#2), A18-49: 1.3/ 4 (#1) 10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 5.48 million (#2), A18-49: 1.5/ 5 (#1) Fox capped off the evening with repeats of Bones (Viewers: #4, 2.71 million: A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 2) and House (Viewers: #4, 1.81 million; A18-49: #4, 0.5/ 2). Hiya everyone! Now this is interesting. NCB finally premiered 'Friends with Benefits' last night and the show did so-so. I wonder why NBC held the show off when they were originally schedule to premiere all the way back in June! 'CHAOS' could have taken them on easily based on those numbers they have gotten last night. **** Marc Bergman writes on Satuday, August 06, 2011:Friday 8/05/11 -Total Viewers: CBS: 5.99 million, ABC: 3.98, NBC: 3.63, Fox: 2.48, CW: 872,000 -Adults 18-49: ABC: 1.1 rating/4 share, CBS and NBC: 1.0/ 4 each, Fox: 0.7/ 3, CW: 0.3/ 1 -------------------- Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 33 percent at this same point last year to approximately 38 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted. ---------- -Friday’s Winners: Nothing -Friday’s Losers: Friends With Benefits (NBC) and the night overall ---------- -Ratings Breakdown: There was split low-rated leadership on this first Friday in August, with CBS tops in total viewers and ABC No. 1 among adults 18-49. But the lackluster overall results for each of the five broadcast networks are nothing to boast about. Sixty-two percent of the line-up were encore telecasts. In series premiere news, two episodes of NBC sitcom Friends With Benefits, which no doubt is just being burned-off at this point, failed to generate interest as follows: Friends With Benefits (NBC) 8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 2.37 million (#4), A18-49: 0.7/ 3 (#3t) 8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 1.99 million (#4), A18-49: 0.6/ 2 (#4)Next on NBC was a two-hour edition of Dateline at 4.35 million viewers (#2) and a 1.2/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#1t) from 9-11 p.m. Although Dateline is being trimmed down to one hour on Friday this fall, the imminent failure of upcoming Friday 9 p.m. scripted drama Grimm means Dateline will be expanded back to two hours. CBS opened the evening with Canadian drama Flashpoint (Viewers: #1, 6.20 million; A18-49: #1, 1.1/ 4 at 8 p.m.), which was the most-watched show of the evening, followed by repeats of CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 5.88 million; A18-49: #3, 0.9/ 3) and Blue Bloods (Viewers: #1, 5.88 million; A18-49: #3, 1.0. 3) from 9-11 p.m. This fall, new drama A Gifted Man, which faces an uphill battle, will air in the Friday 8 p.m. hour on CBS. ABC aired a repeat of Shark Tank (Viewers: #2, 3.67 million; A18-49: #2, 1.0/ 4), which was pushed back until midseason, a repeat of Primetime: What Would You Do? (Viewers: #3, 3.52 million; A18-49: #1t, 1.0/ 4) and veteran newsmagazine 20/20, which finished third in total viewers (4.75 million) and tied for first among adults 18-49 (1.3/ 4) at 10 p.m. At press time, ABC has still not said what will air in the Friday 9 p.m. time period this fall. Elsewhere, Fox filled the evening with repeats of Bones (Viewers: #3, 2.87 million; A18-49: #3, 0.8/ 3) and House (Viewers: #4, 2.08 million; A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 2). And The CW aired encore telecasts of Nikita (Viewers: #5, 869,000; A18-49: #5, 0.3/ 1) and Supernatural (Viewers: #5, 875,000; A18-49: #5, 0.3/ 1).
