Wow. That was unbelievable. Martin should suffer some consequences from the Kim thing, but MAN! The stuff that Jack said to him, without any sympathy, friendship or even a little understanding, WOW. I don't think that I've ever plain hated a character like I hate Jack right now. Maybe when Martin was still a rookie I could accept what Jack said (a little), but after 7 years and a good record, after Martin gave up a promotion and supported him completely after the Jen Long debacle, I'm almost speechless. Jack said that Martin made the unit look bad or something like that. Like RamboJack and his demotion didn't make the unit and especially Viv look bad. What a hypocrite. Jack knew that Martin had a relationship with Kim and must have been really upset about what happened, but there was zero understanding. After seven years working together. I don't understand why the writers are making their lead so unlikable. JERK. I have an idea for a new story for Martin: go into Jack's office, quit/ask for a transfer and tell the a$$hole to **** off. Really, I don't see why Martin would want to work for Jack anymore. On top of that, there was no conversation between Martin and Danny about what happened. We have no idea what Martin is thinking right now, because he has talked to no one. RIP WAT.

Really to pissed off at Jack. Martin should have been reprimanded for his actions but Jack was such a total ass. Jack has done far more wrong to the team with his antics of the past few seasons. It's unbelieveable!!! Did I miss an epi or what? It seemed liked Jack had such a dislike of Martin even after working with him ll these years.

Oh i am so mad at Jack he is a jerk and so two faced the nerve him telling Martin he had made the unit look bad maybe Jack needs to look at his own actions in the last couple of years to say he has let the team down, oh i wish Martin could have thrown something back at Jack but he sat there and took it, i sense they are building up Sam/Brian that i care not but if it finally splits the terrible two some of J/S i will be happy.

Rolling On The Floor moment: Sam telling Jack that she misses him and makes a comment about Brian sleeping on her couch.
Hmmmm.... Both scenes they showed with Brian: NOT SLEEPING ON ANY COUCH! That sure looked like a bed to me! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
You're a goner Jack!
As for the Jack smackdown: At least there was some continuation. I thought for sure they were going to drop it like a hot potato.

Jack is not a believable supervisor to reprimand Martin! He can't talk about following the rules and making the team look bad when he has done worse. How can he say those things to Martin when he is having a relationship with Samantha, not a convicted felon, but clearly his subordinate!
I wish Martin said something back to Jack...to challenge him and question his authority. I would have liked a conversation between Martin& Danny or even Viv about how Martin is coping. I don't believe that after shooting Kim that he can just move on...Where is Dr. Lisa Harris to help him out?
It's useless to hope that the writers will fix the mess they created when they made the main characters of the show so unbelievable, especially Jack!
I still watch the show every week (thanks to my DVR) but WAT has changed a lot and it is painful to admit that instead of getting better through the years , the show has deteriorated big time!

I have to agree with everyone else at how outraged I was by Jack. Jerk doesn't come close to a word I would use to describe his totally hypocritical actions. I wrote Jack off a long time ago, he has no redeeming qualities left.
But for him to berate Martin as if he's a rookie or a child was inexcuable. And the comment about 'embarrassing' the unit? What Jack, don't you have any mirrors at your house? You've down nothing but embarass the unit for years, esp. in the Jen Long case and let's not forget all the rules and regulations you are so arrogantly flaunting by screwing around with Sam.
He's going to dress down Martin for his acitons and he helped Sam cover up a murder...not to mention nearly drowning that teenage rape suspect last year , which by the way would get that case thrown out of court...
The list is endless...
Martin, for some reason, still thinks of Jack as a hero, God knows why and I think part of his shock last night was being stung by Jack being disappointed in him.
I wonder if this is going to lead up to something happening for the finale.
I really wanted Martin to show a backbone and tell Jack off, throw his badge down and walk out.

I do also agree with everyone here....I HATE Jack now more than ever....talking to our Martin like that!! Embarrassing the unit....that was the all time killer on his part.....Jack take a long look at YOURSELF bud!! I can't believe the writers to be so dumb....in writing that all in the script??? That only makes me wonder and quiver about what might be lying out there for Martin....the season finale...hope nothing happens to him that will make Jack feel like a heel....(which he is) if something happens to Martin. Telling him what he can and what he cannot do....only on his orders!! I can tell this has really aggrevated all of us....none of us really talking about the missing persons case. I thought it was all right...not the greatest!! Sam was there in the end to save the day...she is really being made to be the "hot gun" this year!! All I can say...is I hope our Martin stays safe!! So glad though that they did take back up on the story of Kim....I was thinking that would be left in the dust!!

I hadn't decided, until now, if I was going back to greatstufftv to watch this episode, but, thanks to all your comments I know what I will be doing tomorrow.
Without watching and only going by your comments, I must say, Jack has always been a hypocrit. As far back as I can remember it has always been "Do as I say, not as I do." with him.
I'm hoping that just this once Martin has a little chat with "Daddy Dearest".

This is my thinking about the Jack smackdown... Yes, Jack is a jerk. There's no doubt about that. He bullies himself in and out of situations.. sometimes it's warranted .. most times, it's not. That said.. I think he genuinely cares about everyone on his team... well.. maybe not Sam.. because if he really cared about her, he wouldn't be sleeping with her and jeopardizing her career... but it seems that none of the higher ups care about that.. so it's a free for all now... I think he's the opinion that they should not do as he does because they're better than that. He's been around the block a few times and he knows how to play the game... he doesn't want others on his team to go down the same path as he does. Probably because he doesn't think they can survive it and will be fired. So, I really think he's got Martin's back in this... I think he was disappointed in him because he expects more. And let's not forget, Martin doesn't have the top spot on the "purest, FBI agent" list. Was it in season two when he flipped out and shot and killed that suspect after finding that girl w/ her ear cut off and then lied about it? I think Jack thought that was all water under the bridge and he wouldn't put himself in another stupid situation like that again. I think getting involved with Kim wasn't his biggest mistake... not disclosing that she pulled a gun on him at the get go was his first mistake, and then staying involved with her after the evidence started piling up on his desk and not going to his superior officer was where he really went wrong. Jack is Jack Jack will cover your butt as long as you don't follow in his footsteps. And I say that w/ no malice towards Jack. I think he wants his agents to be better than him. Shrug. And of course, there's always that: if you look bad, that makes me look bad thing. As for the 'letter' that's been placed in Martin's file. Hmm... he probably should have been suspended until a formal investigation was done. Getting the smackdown from Jack was nothing compared to what should have happened. Martin should be very grateful it went the way it did.

Well, instead of waiting until tomorrow I went ahead and watched this episode tonight, and, while I agree with you, septemberbaby, I still feel that Jack should think twice about what he says and does. Especially to my Martin. I can see the beginning of the end for J/S. I think it was just Sam and Brians mannerisms at the end of episode, but, yep J/S is history. This might have something to do with Jacks attitude towards Martin. I also think that, Martin may have been a bit embarrassed by the turn of events with Kim, as well. Who knows, we may have to wait to see how things go for them. How many episodes are left? Definately need a season Eight.

Here are some caps: Yep, Brian is not sleeping on Sam's couch, that is for sure! And he's not in a spare bedroom either... I know that bed anywhere! That's the same bed she and Martin rolled around in! The smackdown begins: This is what Martin looks like in a padded room: Getting all cozy:

Now that I have a little calm down towards Jack Malone, here I am... ;D I liked this episode. The MP was good and the guest too cute... First confrontation I'm totally OK with this first scene. Jack's just doing his job. Martin knows he screwed up. At the institut Surprise !!! Lucy's walking too!!! ;D One of my favorite moment. The 2 actors were great. Am I going ? New confrontation This is my big deception about the episode. The fisrt scene was OK and normal but this one...Jack's so unfair towards Martin. I was expecting Martin to cry or threw his badge at Jack's head but no...he stays here, silent. I'm wondering if it's not a way for Jack to get revenge for all the Medina thing. But Jack should remember that if he still have a job, it's thanks to Martin. Respect...Martin has respect for Jack but clearly, Jack has no respect for Marty. I don't like this Jack Malone... I'm wondering what it means for Martin and the end of the season. I'm a little worried...and so he's Martin... Edited because of spoilers content by mimi

And of course, there's always that: if you look bad, that makes me look bad thing. I've come to think that it's the only thing that Jack was worried about. He was really mad about Martin going to Danny instead of him, because he could have covered it up. And the other comment about making the unit look bad: he's pissed that Martin doing his own thing made him appear like a weak leader who doesn't know what goes on on his team. And it's true. Jack hasn't been a good leader for about 2 years now. Maybe Jack cares about some members of his team, but I completely disagree that he cares about Martin. If he did, there would have been in inkling of softening, of concern, somewhere in the middle of the smackdown. There was nothing. And ALP could have conveyed a bit of sympathy with a single look, but there was nothing. I hate Jack. So much. And I'm so sick of the writers dumping on Martin. We've seen some of the other agents' screw-ups, but it's always been in the past, and Jack has always been supportive. Martin always makes mistakes in the present, we never know exactly why, and Jack always dumps on him. And Martin meekly takes it, always. I'm afraid that WAT is setting up Martin to leave, not with a bang, but a whimper. And at the end, when Jack said to Martin that he couldn't so much as take a breath without checking with him first, I wanted Martin to tell him off, SO BAD. ETA: Thanks for the caps, girls! I'm so angry at Jack that I forgot to comment on how hot Martin looked, and that I liked the Martin scene with the mental patient. Other than that, boring case, again, but what else is new...
